I put my phone down. I knew they would have a million more questions, but I wasn't in the mood right now. I heard a knock on my shut door. "Come in," I called.
"Hey," my mom said as she opened it. "Are you and Noah hanging out again tomorrow."
"I think," I tried to say casually.
"Ok," she nodded awkwardly. It was obvious she has more to say. I watched as she slowly made her way to sit next to me on my bed. "So you really like him, huh?"
"Mom," I groaned.
"Sorry," she apologized. "But if you're gonna be in your room with him with the door closed..."
"Ok, yes, I like him but you don't have to worry."
"Ok," she smiled to herself. "Also, what's happening with you and Dad's girlfriend on Thursday? I didn't wanna ask with Noah here." I could sense the tension in her voice.
"I don't know, just getting lunch."
"So do you think Dad is serious about this one?"
"God, Mom, I don't know. I think she just wants to meet me since I'm spending the weekend with her."
"Ok, ok," she nodded giving up. "Is she coming to the house?"
     "To pick me up."
     "What time?"
     "Noon, I think."
     "Well then it looks like I have to go grocery shopping Thursday at noon."

     Noah and I hung out for a short time the next day. I drove to his hotel after his photo shoot and we ordered Chinese takeout and watched Black Widow. I've never been a fan of action movies, but I didn't even care. Sure, I almost fell asleep from boredom, but I was with Noah. Plus, I was lying next to him and he kept loudly reacting every time anything happened.
"Are you sure your mom doesn't care that we're here alone?" I asked. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't complaining that Mrs. Jupe went out to buy souvenirs for her two younger kids while we were watching the movie, but the last thing I wanted to do was make her think I was imposing on their trip.
"Absolutely," he reassured me. "She was more than happy to give us time alone. Plus she wanted to buy stuff for Jemma and Jacobi and I didn't wanna come so it worked out."
"So that's why you invited me over," I joked. "To get out of going shopping."
"Bingo," he played along. "So, when do I get to meet your friends?" I felt my stomach do a flip. I don't know why that freaked me out. It just made everything feel so real. Jules and Jayden would likely only meet Noah once before he had to go back to London. It made the time seem to race.
"You're doing it again," he interrupted my thoughts.
"What?"
"You got all nervous and zoned out."
"Oh god, sorry."
"Don't be sorry," he frowned slightly. "If you don't want me to meet your friends that's fine."
"No no no, I really do," I said. "Just...getting nervous about you going home." He was silent for a second before he nodded.
"I know I keep saying this, but we'll figure it out. We'll be ok," he said.
"Yeah," I responded not fully convinced. "Anyway, I can ask Jules and Jayden if they're around Friday if that works for you."
"Definitely."

The next day after breakfast, I saw that I had several notifications

     I was praying they were the talkative type. I know it sounds counter-effective, but if they're talkative, then that means I get to talk less. If they're shy, I'm forced to start conversations to avoid awkward silence.
     I started getting ready around 11:30 so I had time to listen to music and all that jazz and I just finished putting my shoes on when I saw a hella expensive car pull into the driveway. No idea what kind of car, but it was definitely expensive. Probably a Tesla or something. Surprisingly, my mom actually did go grocery shopping. I don't think it was to avoid Marina, but let's be honest, it might have been. I walked out the door, locked it behind me, and did that awkward walk that you have to do when someone picks you up.
     I then realized that I would get to see Lily-Rose and Jack again today. I hadn't seen them since February or March. I opened the back door to the expensive car and peaked in to see my brother in the middle row and two unfamiliar faces in the back. I then quickly looked to the front seats to see my sister and who I assumed to be Marina. "Hi!" I greeted.
     "Hi Davina," Marina said brightly. "So nice to meet you, I'm Marina."
     "Great to meet you too," I said as I sat down next to Jack and gave him a quick wave. He quickly rubbed my shoulder.
     "You're getting tall," he joked.
     "Haven't grown in three years," I responded.
     "Hey Dovie," Lily-Rose said and reached back to give my hand a quick squeeze. We've always done that for as long as I can remember. I then turned around to see Marina's kids looking back at me. My eyes were drawn to the young girl first. She had long wavy dark hair, warm brown eyes, and a relatively slim face. "Hi, I'm Davina," I smiled to her.
     "Hi," she smiled back. "I'm Jacey."
     "I'm Parker," the boy added. I then turned to face him. Oh wow. He had the same features as her minus the hair. His was a bit lighter brown and bleached on top. Other than that, they could practically be twins.
     "Great to meet you in person," I laughed, referring to our texts from yesterday.
     "Davina, not to immediately start fan-girling, but we all love Stranger Things," Marina chuckled as she started pulling out of the driveway.
"Oh god, thanks," I laughed.
"You were so good last season. I couldn't believe that plot twist ending." Parker commented. "But Jacey hasn't finished the last few episodes yet, so don't spoil it." I turned back around and chuckled.
"Ok, without spoiling anything, I'll let you know that the plot twist was planned like super last minute." His eyes grew wide and he grabbed onto something hanging from a string on his neck. As he moved his fingers, I saw it was a black crystal.
"No way," he shook his head. "It was too perfect to be a last minute thing."
"Well it was," I shrugged. "I like your necklace, by the way." Hs looked down and realized he had started playing with it.
"Oh, thanks," he said and dropped it. "It's kind of a long story, but basically my dad had one just like it and he gave it to me when I was little, but I broke it and freaked out, so my mom said she fixed it, but she just bought a new one from Amazon without telling me."
"Wow," I laughed and grabbed onto the (fake) gold necklace I was wearing. "See mine also has a long story. I bought it at the mall." He chuckled and closed his eyes. I took a second to notice a few other things about his appearance. He wore flat, circular stud earrings, had a small scar on his right eyebrow, and looked like he probably played electric guitar. He also had a great smile. Overall, he was cute. Like really cute.
