     Lunch went decently well. Marina was really nice but I could see why Lily-Rose and Jack weren't the biggest fans of her: she was comfortable. Too comfortable. She acted like she and my dad were an older married couple and she had known us her whole life. Like she had given birth to us. Lily-Rose is extremely close with her mom Vanessa so I knew she would never let anyone remotely close to taking that spot, and obviously my relationship with my mom is very secure as well.
     The best (and worst) part of lunch is that I sat next to Parker. Man, I don't think we stopped talking for one second the entire time. At one point, Marina said something to me along the lines of, "see, your dad and I knew you guys would be like best friends." It made the whole situation a little more uncomfortable on my end. Imagine if they got married. Parker would be my step-brother. And then of course there's Noah. Goodnight.
     "Thanks again for lunch," I said to Marina.
     "My pleasure," she shook her head. "Everyone have all their stuff? Jacey, don't forgot your phone."
     "I got it," Jacey assured her as she stood up. She may have been the only one who I didn't have some sort of anxiety because of. I began to stand up and walk away as I felt my foot get caught behind the chair, causing me to beginning falling backwards. Shit, don't be that person who falls over in the middle of the restaurant. Luckily, I felt a hand wrap around my back and catch me by the shoulder. Phew.
     "Oh god, thanks," I muttered as I turned toward the arm. Of course, my worst nightmare came true. Parker was staring right back at me with wide eyes.
     "You drink a little too much Sprite?" he joked. I felt myself chuckle awkwardly as a terrifying feeling overcame my body:

Butterflies.

     "I'm just so clumsy," I shook my head and walked to the side so his arm was forced to let me go. Lily-Rose caught my glance as we passed. She raised her eyebrows teasingly and I've never shook my head quicker in my life.

     I FaceTimed Noah as soon as I got home. All I needed was to hear his voice again. See his face again. The phone rang three or four times before he answered.
     "Hey," he smiled. He was lying in his hotel bed and was playing with his ring by his chin. Ok, it was working. The butterflies were coming back.
     "Hey," I said back. "what did you do today?"
"Met up with some friends from an old acting class," he shrugged. "Not anything too special. How was lunch?"
"Decent," I answered. "My dad's girlfriend is nice so the weekend with her shouldn't be too bad."
"That's good," he nodded. "And her kids?"
"They're nice too," I said.
"Should I be jealous of Parker?" my stomach dropped. I knew he was just teasing me since we were joking about that before, but now it meant something.
"No," I forced myself to laugh. "You excited for the beach tomorrow?"
     "Very," he nodded. "You said Jules is driving?"
     "Yeah, if that's ok."
     "Very much ok. Then you can sit in the back with me."
     "Unless I got shotgun," I teased.
     "Well well," he chuckled. "If that's how you want to play it. We'll just see who gets picked up first." I smirked and shook my head before Noah up higher on his phone. "My mum texted me to meet her in the lobby, I gotta go."
"Ok, I'll see you tomorrow," I waved.
"See you Dovie." Yep, there they were. The butterflies.
