The atmosphere at Stamford Bridge was once again buzzing. After spending all evening with them, Alice sat in the family box with Tony and Debbie and they were chatting away about everything. Alice had got on with them immediately, especially with Debbie as it turns out she was a bit of a theatre fan herself. Mason had never seen anyone gel that instantly with his parents, and it made him remember just how special Alice was. Leah then came and sat next to Alice as she was supporting Tammy by herself, and she hadn't seen Alice in a few weeks.
The game was unsatisfying to watch with both teams desperately fumbling with the ball and missing opportunities. It was 0-0 at half time. Mason knew he had to win with his parents and girlfriend watching in the stands, which filled him with trepidation as Leeds United had a very near miss in the 58th minute. Rudinger taps the ball to Chilwell who runs it along the wing crossing it to Mason as he makes the final run before sending the ball into the top corner of the net, soaring past the goalkeeper's head. Alice leapt up to her feet letting out a proud cheer, before hugging Debbie and Leah. She felt so proud.
Debbie and Tony rushed to Mason as he came and found them after the game. Alice felt so much love for her boyfriend as she could see how happy scoring while his parents were there made him.
"Well played, Mount," Alice chuckled as she hugged her boyfriend, and he gave her a quick peck on the lips.
"I'm beginning to think you might be my good luck charm." Mason was beaming, he had never felt so happy knowing that he got to share this moment with the people he loved most.
