Phil had asked Tommy countless times to bring him his rain boots to clean to mud off of. It wasn't Tommy's fault he kept forgetting and Phil new that. His brain couldn't focus on anything for very long, so after about a week of the boy saying he would bring them down later and never doing so the man decided to just grab them.

Tommy was outside training a bit with Techno, and Wilbur was probably out at the lake not far from their home. Phil suspected his eldest had meet someone but didn't pry all to much about it. It was Wilburs life and he seemed happy.

Walking up the stairs he reached the end of the hallway where Tommy's door lie across from the guest room Tubbo had claimed. He ignored the Do Not Enter sign that had probably been stolen from someone's property, and opened the door. The room was very clearly Tommy's.

It was messy though Phil never got on his back about it, Tommy had to have things a certain way and it was organized in the youngest mind. The trash was overflowing and clothes were littered around the half full hamper. Posters plastered the walls, comics and figurines lined the shelves, his rock collection sat on display by his desk, and his disks were organized perfectly above his jukebox.

Looking around for the boots Phil spotted them partially under the bed, having to get down to reach under and grab one of them. When he pulled one of them out it seemed to catch on something, ending up with a box being flung out. It was painted blue with cloud and bird stickers decorating it. On the top, in messy childish handwriting 'Tommy' was written in bright red.

He didn't want to invade but curiosity got the best of him. After carefully unlatching the old box he opened the lid. To say he was confused would be an understatement. The first thing he saw was a pacifier clearly made for an adult. It was a pretty brown color, with mossy green gems around the edges and plastic white flowers resembling daisies here and there, and with a cute frog on the front.

Next was a sippy cup, tinted green with pastel dinosaurs. There were other things in there as well, baby snacks like those little star shaped puffs, yogurt melts, and some popcorn and m&ms in a little baggie, as well as some building blocks and a stuffed cow, and plastic dinosaurs Phil remembered getting him for his birthday when he was a little kid.

He was confused, sure, but decided he shouldn't have seen the items. As he went to put the box back under the bed he heard the door creak and a sharp intake of breath. Tommy stood behind him with a clearly panicked look. He looked between the open box and his father a few times, taking a small step back.

"D-Dadza, I can explain I- I just- It's- Um" Tommy stumbled over his words.

Phil stood up slowly, noticing the way his youngest wouldn't make eye contact and kept popping his fingers, biting at his lip aggressively. It reminded him of when he first adopted Tommy. He was always skittish, scared of messing up and constantly apologizing and begging to not be sent back.

"Tommy, calm down. It's ok son. Your ok, I'm not angry, I'm not upset. I'm a little confused but you don't have to explain anything to me alright. I shouldn't have looked in the box in the first place and I'm really sorry"

Tommy looked up at him silently, searching his fathers eyes carefully with a scared look on his face. The older recognized the expression immediately.

"I don't hate you Toms. I don't think your weird, and I'm not going to leave you. And I swear to XD, swear on my life, that I'm not going to send you back, ok? I love you so so much and nothings ever going to change that. You are my son, no matter what"

Tears filled Tommy's eyes and he let Phil hug him, clinging onto his adoptive father tightly as if scared he would disappear. Phil shushed him as he cried silently, not caring his shirt was being stained by the tears. Once Tommy had calmed down to the point of just sniffling he sat them both down on the bed.

Tommy stared at his lap as he gently tapped at his forehead to ground himself. Soon the tapping moved down to his jawline, something he did when he was deciding something. Phil offered his son his weighted blanket, happily excepting one of his favorite and most comforting belongings.

"Dad?" He eventually asked, hands moving down to pat at his thighs.

"Yeah?"

"If I- if I tell you do you promise not to leave me" He didn't make eye contact but happily leaned into the hand place on the back of his neck.

"I promise, I'm right here. I will always be here for you son" Phil smiled at him.

"Ok" He sighed, "Here we go"
