today was finally the awaited day, the day that we found out the gender of our second baby. we said to ourselves that we would've waited a couple of years after getting married before we had another but everything happens for a reason.

ever since we found out that i was pregnant again, all mason and i could talk about was what gender we thought it would be. neither of us had a preference but i could tell that mason was hoping for a boy; despite telling me many times that he didn't care as long as we were both healthy. mason knew that if he had a boy, he'd be able to get him into football at a young age, not that he couldn't do that with another daughter but it would probably feel more special for him to do it with his son.

i, on the other hand, had a strange feeling that we were having another girl, just purely because of all the old wives tales that we had done. we had done about ten of the tales and they still hadn't given us a clear indication of what we were having. ever since i was a teenager, i always dreamed of having two daughters who would end up being my best friends and because i never had a sister, i'd want my daughter to have one for her own.

"morning, my love." i heard masons voice from behind me, his voice muffled and deep from just waking up and his face being nuzzled into my neck.

"morning." i said back to him, drawing lines on his arm that was wrapped around my belly with my fingertips; feeling him move closer to me, well as close as he could due to my large pregnancy pillow, i interlocked our fingers together and rested them just underneath my bump. "did you sleep well?"

"yeah, it was decent, i had a dream aswell." he told me before quietly laughing to himself, his laugh being mixed in with the sounds of the birds outside our window.

"oh yeah? what was it about?"

"just us and the future." mason had now rolled onto his back and i had turned onto my other side, seeing his arms bulge from being under his head.

"i hope it was a good dream because you can't get rid of me, bitch." i told him playfully as i pointed at both of the rings on my finger, and the picture of our daughter holding the ultrasound, making him laugh loudly before stopping so he didn't wake up our daughter who was sleeping in the room facing ours.

"why would i wanna get rid of you?" he teased with a smirk on his face.

"you soppy little shit, dec is so right about you being a simp." i laughed, my hand going over my mouth at masons gobsmacked reaction before we looked to the door after we heard the baby monitor go off. "the queen has awoken, let me go and get her."

"no, you stay in bed, i'll go and get her." mason gently pushed my shoulders back into the comfortable pillow, as i reached over to grab my phone to check the time and to see if jasmine had messaged me about anything for today. all that we had been told by jasmine was to dress in the colour that we thought was the baby's gender and show up at the place on time, so neither of us had a clue of what she had set up for the reveal. mason and i had given her a list of people that we definitely wanted to come and the rest of the invites were up to her idea of who we were friends with and who we liked.
