"Mom, dad. What's up?" I asked and they stepped inside silently, closing the door behind them, they were definitely here to say something bad.
"We heard that Nico broke another kid's jaw." my mom said and I chewed on my cheek, that did sound bad.
"So, we talked and we have come to an agreement that we don't want you to see that Di Angelo kid anymore." dad said and my eyes widened.
"What? Why?"
"He broke another kid's jaw! That's why." dad exclaimed and I sighed.
"He had his reasons-"
"He broke someone's jaw, what good reasons are there?" dad cut in, and I huffed.
"To break someone's jaw with just a punch you need to hit a very specific spot that you are more likely to hit on accident than on purpose. He didn't mean to break the jaw." I argued and my mom furrowed her brows.
"But he did intend to punch the boy?" she asked and I fell silent.
"Well, maybe the boy deserved it, did that ever occur to you?" I asked, instantly regretting how sharp my tone was.
"I don't care about the reasoning, Nico could be dangerous and I don't want you in contact with him anymore, I forbid it." Mom continued and I tried to think of something, anything to say. But nothing would actually get them to listen. "I don't want you to meet with him, speak with him, or anything like that." she continued and I stared.
"You want me to just abandon my friend?" I asked and she sighed.
"You can call him now to explain why he won't be seeing more of you, but that's it." she said, before leaving the room.
"Sorry kiddo, but it's for the best." dad said, before following her out and I sighed, staring at the phone. How was I supposed to tell him this?

I picked up my phone when I heard it buzzing, seeing the familiar contact name popping up. With a smile, I picked up and immediately heard his stressed-out breathing.
"Will? Are you okay?" I asked and he sighed.
"My parents found out about Octavian and they just told me I'm not allowed to see you anymore or speak with you, for that matter. I'm not allowed to be in contact with you." he said, releasing an unhappy groan while I remained frozen. "You still there?" he asked nervously and I shook my head to clear my thoughts.
"Yeah, of course." I said quickly.
"I'm sorry-" he started, but I cut him off.
"You shouldn't be sorry. It is my fault, I should have just kept my cool with Octavian. Sorry." I said and he chuckled.
"You shouldn't be sorry either. Octavian had it coming. It just sucks that I'm not even allowed to speak to you. I was allowed this one phone call to tell you all of this, but I pretty much have to hang up now that I have." he mumbled and I nodded, even though he couldn't see it.
"Bye, I guess." I said and he sighed.
"I'll find a solution." he whispered, too silently for anyone who might be listening on his side to hear. "Bye." he continued, before hanging up and I sighed, putting the phone down.
"Was that Will?" a voice asked and I looked up, seeing Hazel in the doorway, looking all dazzled up for her date with Frank tonight.
"Yes." I said and she frowned.
