15. Hear me out

I don't know what surprised me the most, hearing Will actually swear, or seeing his parents in the high school library, accompanied by none other than Octavian (Bleugh).

"Mom, dad. How are you?" Will asked awkwardly while his parents glared, more at me than him though.

"As I said, they're here, together." Octavian (UGH) said and Will's parents nodded.

"Yes thank you Octavian, you have really helped shine light on things. And we are sorry that our son called you an asshole." Mrs. Solace said and Will looked offended.

"I did no such thing." he said and his mother turned to him. "I called him a pretentious prat and a snake, not an asshole." he said and I bit back a laugh, while his parents did not look amused.

"We're leaving." Mr. Solace said calmly, gesturing for Will to go with him as he started walking away along with his wife. Will stood to follow, turning to mime an apology to me, before leaving.  I looked as he went, only being brought back to reality when Octavian cleared his throat annoyingly loud.

"Well, that was petty. Even for you." I said as I turned to him and he smirked.

"Consider it payback for the jaw." he said, though it came out pretty muffled due to the jaw in question still being dislocated.

"Then I guess we're even." I said and he chuckled, the sound filled with pure venom.

"Not even close, I still haven't paid you back for getting me sent away. Do you know how mad my father got when it happened? I was grounded for six months." he said and I rolled my eyes.

"I do believe that was your fault, not mine." I said and he glared.

"You can't still be mad about what happened." he said and I shook my head.

"I honestly could not care less at this point, but I'm not going to take on the blame anymore. You're eighteen years old, it's time you learn to take responsibility." I said and he straightened with a huff.

"Whatever, you'll get what's coming for you, Di Angelo."

I threw myself onto my bed when I finally got into my room again. From when they picked me up at school, to dinner, they didn't talk to me at all but instead went into their room to discuss what to do with me.

Then, they had decided by dinner and told me I was still not allowed to see Nico, but that I am also grounded for two weeks with no phone privileges. If they caught me seeing Nico in secret again, they would add a month to the punishment.

It wasn't too bad, but it didn't feel fair considering how they didn't even try to listen to any explanation. If they knew the truth, then surely they'd have to understand that he is not a bad guy, but they were still sure the world was black and white, which is ridiculous. The world is barely anything else than gray.

I cast the window a glance, seeing the night sky and I sighed again, leaving the bed to get ready for bed. I went into my bathroom and started brushing my teeth.

A sound on my window made me freeze as I was almost done brushing my teeth. I spat out the toothpaste, washing my toothbrush quickly before putting it away and dragging a hand over my chin to clean up any spilled paste. Another sound on the window got my attention, I ran over to the window, peering out only to see Nico, lightly tapping the glass.

I couldn't see past him so how the hell he was by my window on the second story, I had no idea. But he was here.

I opened the window and leaned out, looking down to see that he was sitting on Percy's shoulders.
