18. The plan

"You have a plan?" Dad repeated and it was Mrs. Solace's turn to sigh.

"Yes, we have a plan. Do you want to hear it or not?" she asked, sounding rather impatient and my dad seemed a bit taken back since most people sort of automatically feared him. Although it did seem like it was a nice thing to him. People fearing you on sight can be annoying.

"Yes, I want to hear it." He said calmly and I leaned forward in my seat, curious as for what they were thinking.

"If it was found out that Mr. Augustus's son had been involved in anything like what he did to your son and that Mr. Augustus just covered it up, the piranhas on the board would immediately work to get him down. And no one will actually have to know anything because one threat should be enough to make Mr. Augustus see some sort of sense." Mrs. Solace explained and I looked to my dad. He worked with asshole corporates all the time, if anyone would know if this would work it would be him.

"And how are you going to get into contact with Mr. Augustus? Last time I checked, his number is private."

"And it has been for years, yet you found it once. I don't doubt you'd be willing to find it again if it means your son will have one less problem." Mrs. Solace said and we were all silent for a while. "So... can you get it?"  she finally asked and a slow, small smile grew on my father's lips.

"I already have it."

~Eight days later~

As everyone was gathered at the swimming competition, I realized how lucky I was. The plan had gone smoothly and Octavian hadn't as much as tried to approach us, except for the time when his father made him apologize. Which was not necessary, but his face was hilarious so it was nice.

And now, everyone was here. Annabeth was back from her dad and cheering her boyfriend on as he swam, only Grover was cheering louder than her. Leo was flirting with Calypso, a senior. Reyna was talking with Thalia and blushing slightly as she did.

Jason and Piper came together, as friends, but neither of them seemed too uncomfortable. Hazel and Frank were sitting next to each other, Hazel with her head on Frank's shoulder.

Mr. Di Angelo was here as well and he wasn't alone. He had introduced Korẽ to his children the night before and announced that they were dating. Nico had called me once dinner was over and told me all about it. She was a bit obsessed with flowers, but she also seemed to really appreciate the gothic style his family had so he thought she seemed cool.

My parents were here as well, which was the only way they would allow me to go. While they didn't have a problem with Nico anymore, I had lied to them so I was still grounded.

But that didn't phase me because it allowed me to be here, with Nico sitting right next to me on the bench. I allowed my eyes to slip from the middle of the competition to look at him for a moment. He was sitting at the edge of his seat, literally.

Last-minute possible, it had been found out that an agent looking for scholars would be here and a scholarship was the only way Percy would afford college, so a lot was riding on this competition.

Without thinking much about it, his hand grabbed mine and I squeezed it gently and he visibly relaxed, making my heart warm.

I still didn't know what the future had in store for us, if we would be faced with more ghosts of the past or normal relationship problems.

But right now, things were good, so I was going to hold onto that and whatever may come can come, we would face it together.

So, I definitely could have pushed this one and the last into one long part, but I literally finished this part of the story like yesterday so then I would update a week later than usual so that felt weird.

But yeah, the parents worked together and Octavian is no longer a problem. They are allowed to be together and everything is pretty much good.

Considering these sad little shits track history, there will be a lot more shit happening in their life, but right now it is good so this is where this story ends, even if theirs continues.

If any of this was out of character, I am sorry. I've only read PJO, TKC, and HOO. I will read TOA and MCGA, but I haven't yet so I don't know super duper much about some characters. Anyhow, peace out?
