Chapter 15

Raven and Beast Boy were in BB's bedroom. Both were lost for words for a little while.

Meanwhile, Robin, Cyborg and Starfire were eavesdropping.

"Just. Say. Something!" Robin grunted.

Starfire's teeth were clenched. She had a look of annoyance in her eyes. "I wish that these two would say something."

Cyborg couldn't take it anymore. "JUST SAY SOMETHING-"

"SHH!" Robin covered Cyborg's mouth.

"Do not speak, Cyborg," Starfire whisper-shouted.

"What do you think that noise was?" Raven asked Beast Boy from inside his room.

Robin glared at Cyborg. "Thanks a lot, Cy! Now we've been caught! We've gotta go now and it's all your fault."

"I'm sorry, OK?"

"Let's leave now," Starfire suggested.

"Do we have to?" the boys said in unison

"It's the right thing to do."

"Fine!" Robin quietly screamed. "We'll go!"

The boys left reluctantly, while Starfire guided them back to the living room.

In Beast Boy's room, Raven and BB just stood in front of the bed and didn't even look each other in the eye.

"So...I just wanted to...uh, um...I just wanted to..." Raven stuttered. "I want to apologize for earlier. That was uncalled for, and I promise to not be so impulsive from now on."

"Really?" Beast Boy asked. His eyes were welling up with tears. But this time, they were of joy.

Raven looked Beast Boy in the eyes for the first time in a while, "Look, I'm not very good at these heartfelt speeches, but I'll give this a try...

"Beast Boy, calling you a monster...it's something I regret so much. But I'm not sorry for just that...I'm sorry for not accepting your invitation to go to this party with you in the first place. I'm sorry for having to finally agree to coming with you over the phone. I'm sorry for the fight. But most of all, I'm sorry that I ever thought that you were flawed. I mean, you are, but, we all are, aren't we?"

Beast Boy wiped a tear from his eye. "I don't even think you know what you're capable of, Raven. That was a beautiful speech. Raven, I love you." Beast Boy leaned in and shut his eyes.

"Don't push it," Raven blocked BB's kiss attempt. "How about we just take it slow and when we're ready, we take it farther?" Raven held out her hand.

"Sure, Rae. Sure," BB agreed. He shook Raven's hand.

"How about we go back to the party now?" Raven suggested.

"Right behind you, Mama!" BB followed Raven out the door.

As BB passed, Raven quickly kissed him.

"Hey, I thought you wanted to take things slow," Beast Boy whispered.

"Sorry. I just couldn't resist."

Beast Boy and Raven shared another kiss, long and lingering. Love was certainly in the air.
