Be With You

Chapter 1

The Teen Titans tower was strangely quiet. The sun had just set and everyone was now home, but no one made a sound.

Raven was curled up on the sofa with a book, headphones clamped over her ears. Robin was writing in a notebook, but no one knew what he was writing about. Starfire pet Silkie, who was in her lap, completely silent. Beast Boy was playing mobile games while taking occasional bites out of a carrot.
Cyborg gazed at his fellow Teen Titans. He tapped his chin and looked at how the tower was so quiet.

This is so boring, Cyborg thought, I need to do something. Maybe, we could do something we haven't done in a long time! Maybe-"Ugh!" Beast Boy exclaimed, jumping from his seat. "Somebody just say something!"

Everyone stared at Beast Boy. His green face turned red. He chuckled awkwardly and sat back down.

"Guys..." Cyborg said, in a singsong voice, "I have an idea that'll blow the roof off this place!"

"No!" Starfire yelped, "We can't blow the roof off. What will happen when the rain comes? Everything will get wet!"

Raven cleared her throat, reminding Starfire of something.

"Oh. An expression. Sorry, everyone. Ha ha." Starfire sighed, shut up and went back to petting Silkie.

"Like I was saying, we need something to do," Cyborg continued, "So how about we throw a PARTY?"

"YAY!!" Starfire cheered, "I will be happy to come to this party-"

"I'LL GO!"

Everyone stared at Robin. "I mean, yeah. Sure, I'll come; it'll be fun."

God! Could I have been more desperate? Robin thought. After mentally slapping his forehead, the conversation continued.

"I'll go to this party," Beast Boy said. He then looked at Raven. "Are you coming, Mama?"

"No." Raven rushed out of the room, leaving everybody else bewildered.

"OK, I guess we'll just have to party without Raven," Cyborg said nonchalantly.

Beast Boy's eyes welled up with tears. "Why does she hate me?"

Beast Boy's P.O.V

After the others left the living room, I got another carrot from the fridge and fell back onto the couch when I got back.

I just didn't understand why Raven said no to me. And so suddenly, too.

I took the first bite out of my carrot and thought hard about what had just happened.

I asked Raven to the party, and she instantly rejected me and ran off. Why didn't she say yes?

I sat up and stopped doing anything in mid-chew.

I think I know why she said no.
