Robin and Beast Boy sang while BB strummed his guitar. The two guys were in Beast Boy's bedroom, close to the end of writing a song for Starfire. Beast Boy was back from the living room, where he was hanging out before. After a little while and a conversation through text, Raven had finally agreed to go to the party with him. His heart was melting.

Robin had taken a seat on BB's bed and BB sat on the floor. Robin was eager to impress Star and Beast Boy was daydreaming about Raven, so writing a love song was a piece of cake for both of them.

Beast Boy played the final note, put down his guitar and let out a sigh of relief. "It looks like we're done, dude!" He began walking away.

"Really?" Robin asked. He jumped off of BB's bed. "We're already done? But it's only Tuesday!"

Beast Boy froze and turned around. "So? What's your point?"

"It doesn't feel like it's coming from the heart. Maybe I should just write my own song for Star."

"Well, I do feel totally in the mood to write a love song, bro. But, we've been working real hard. Besides, what if you don't make it in time?" BB said.

Robin stared BB right in the eyes. "Beast Boy, music is about emotion, and I feel plenty of emotion whenever Starfire's around me. I have lots of ideas of what the lyrics could be. Heck, I even have a melody in mind! What do you say?"

Beast Boy stared Robin in the eyes. He saw and sensed longing. Desire. Want.

"Alright, let's do this," Beast Boy agreed. He picked up his guitar.

"Let's get started!" Robin said.

"Hey, girls!" Cyborg said. Raven and Starfire were home from buying decorations.

"Hi, Cyborg!" Starfire replied. "We are done buying the required items for your party."

"Yeah, what she said." Raven took the shopping bags, left and went down the hall.

"I need to share gossip with you," Starfire told Cyborg.

Cyborg sat down on the couch. "I'm listening..." Star sat down next to him.

Starfire pulled out her phone and showed Cyborg the conversation she had with BB earlier.

"Aww...that's so cute!" Cyborg cooed. (If you're unfamiliar with this conversation, read the previous chapter)

Star went to leave when Cyborg shouted, "Wait! I almost forgot about a theme. I want a theme."

Starfire tapped her chin and squinted her eyes, deep in thought. "How about the fancy event during which people wear masks?"

"A masquerade! Perfect!" Cyborg exclaimed. "We need to get masks! Can you go back to the mall and get some for everyone?"

Beast Boy walked around, tapping his chin. "Where do I find a black rose?" he mumbled to himself.

Starfire's eyebrows raised.

Cyborg told Star, "It's a long story."
