Be With You

Chapter 3

"Dude, are you OK?" Beast Boy asked Robin. He'd heard him panic.

"I-I'm alright. Whydidyouask?" Robin replied.

"Sit down and tell me everything." The pair sat down and Robin explained.

"You know the party Cyborg is planning?" Robin said. BB nodded.

"Well, I was going to tell someone how I...you know, feel. I was writing down some ideas of how I could say it." Robin handed Beast Boy the notebook. "Wait!"

After a few seconds, Robin handed BB the book again. Beast Boy stared down at the black plastic cover and opened it. The first page was lined and had a list on it. The title had the final word crossed out, so it said "Ways I Can Confess My Feelings To 'Random Chick' ".

"Robin, it's pretty obvious who this is about," BB said.

Robin put his head in his hands. "(sigh). Fine, I admit it, it's about Starfire. You can't tell anyone about that!"

"Dude, even if someone didn't know, it wouldn't be much of a surprise," Beast Boy told Robin.

"What?!" Robin exclaimed. "How do they know?"

"You're mega into Starfire. Everybody knows that. Everyone, except Starfire, that is."

"So, anyway, now that you know, can you help-"

"Love poem, awesome gift, saying it in person!?" Beast Boy read from the notebook. "This stuff won't work, Robin! If you want to get your girl, you need a good old-fashioned serenade," BB suggested.

"You mean, singing to her?" Robin looked at Beast Boy like he was crazy. "But, I can't-"

"Don't worry, my little birdie, I'll help you. I know a bit of guitar, so that covers instruments.

"Now, Cyborg said the party is on Saturday. It's Monday today. We have almost a week to write a killer song. We can do this," BB brainstormed, writing ideas down in Robin's notebook.

"You think Starfire will like it?" Robin asked Beast Boy.

Beast Boy turned his head. "Like it? She'll love it, dude!"

"Yeah, you're right," Robin agreed.

"LET'S GET THIS STARTED!"

BB and Robin spent the whole day in BB's room, playing guitar and writing lyrics.

Raven overheard guitar, and walked up to Beast Boy's door.

If only I didn't reject his invite, Raven thought, solemn and sad.
