The Hunter's Angel

Chapter 9

Seaira's POV

"We're Here." Gabriel says. We walk up to a rundown store attached to the other buildings. "This was the food bank. It served the whole county. All of the cans at my church we're going to end up here."

Rick opens the door an aims his Rifle in front of him, Michonne following behind. I have my Colt out ready if something happens. We follow each other inside. Sweeping the area as we further in. clothes racks scattered around and some clothes on the floor.

Rick notices a hole in the floor, and he puts up a fist, signaling us to stop, we hear water splashing around inside, followed by Walker snarls. Rick walks slowly up to the edge of the hole and peers in.

He motions for us to come to him. The snarling continues as we grow closer, I lean in seeing the waterlogged walkers, Waist deep in grey water. I sigh, knowing that's where all the food is. There are shelves down there. I scrunch up my face smelling the moist air from down below, glancing at my group they have the same expression.

"If a sewer could puke, this is what I'd smell like," Bob Says. "So, what's your plan Grimes?" I ask looking at him next to me. "We can use the shelves to block them." Sasha says. "Yeah, that's it Sasha." Rick nods. I tuck my colt between my lower back in the waistband of my pants. taking out my Ice Axe I have from my belt loop; I'll have to find a sheath for it soon.

"Hey, I said you're coming with us." Rick says to a very nervous Gabriel. As soon as we all jump in, Rick yells go and we push the shelf, making a barricade between us and the Geeks craving our flesh. "Here they come." Rick says, we get the shelves into place and Rick tells Sasha to get right. "Seaira go left." He orders.

As the walkers try grabbing at us through the shelves, we stab them through. one tries grabbing my arm, I push it away with my right arm and I stab it in the head with my left. we get a few of them. I turn to hear another, its wearing glasses, looking like a librarian. I focus back in front of me, and I take out a few more.

When I finish killing the last one in front of me, I hear splashing behind me. I turn and see Gabriel trying to escape up the broken staircase. He falls and put his back against the wall. "We have to get Gabriel." Rick says. "I'll go while-" "No." I get cut off by Rick. "I'm not risking that. All right, we'll push down the shelves on the ones in front of us. We'll fight through and I'll grab him." He tells the plan.

"Go!" He yells and at the same time we all tip over the shelf onto the Walkers in front of us. One at a time we slide through between the shelves to get to Gabe. I see Gabriel freaking out as the walker I had seen before was gaining on him. Rick goes to get it, but he got one in front of him.

I stab two and sped up a bit, passing Rick. When the Walker gets to Gabe I swung my Ice Axe, splitting the Walkers head in half. Spinning to see if anything is near me. Gabriel falls down a bit in the grey water. almost crying in relief. I once again sigh, blowing a bit of my hair out of my face.

I see all the walkers are dead. I turn to Gabe; he is breathing heavily. "What did I tell you?" I say lowly. Shaking my head, I walk through the water to Michonne, but Bob goes under water yelling. "Bob!" Sasha yells. We hurry to him. He comes up out of the water with a Walker trying to get him. He stabs the Walker through the pole in front of him. I stab the walker and we back up panting.

Sasha goes up to him asking if he is okay. "I'm fine now." He says calmly, still panting. We quickly scavenge everything we can get. I look around where we first entered. I glance at the clothes on the racks and get a grey shirt off its hanger. I then spot a black and purple flannel on the side and grab that as well. I get new blue jeans and underwear since I'm soaked in sewer water. I go to where no one can see me and put them on, putting Daryl's jacket over my flannel. I'll give it back to him later. I noticed everyone had the same idea when I got back from my hiding area.
