Chapter 23 : A kiss, a cloud and a free fall.

I let my eyes accustum to the light streaming into the room.

You know those three seconds of blank when you wake up? When you don't know where you are, what time it is? Well that was exactly what was happening until the memories came back. Fresh and vivid memories of last night that involved a certain man and thousands of unfogettable emotions. I slowly whirled around the bed only to face that sleepy young handsome man.

He was peacefully sleeping on the left side of the bed. His eyes closed, his face smooth and gentle, he was vulnerable and at peace somehow.

I stared at him for a while wondering what good I've ever done to deserve such blessing before jumping out of bed, ready to make wudu and pray fajr. It was early in the morning yet i was late for the morning prayer.

The prayers done, I sat in the balcony, the wind brushing my hair and my bare feet crossed in front of me. I closed my eyes and let myself sink into the calmness and peace around me. The wind brushed my hair and I inhale deeply to let the air enter my lungs and refresh them.

The vivid green leaves that were still tightly stuck on the branch, fought the ones falling around. The smooth breeze caressed the tree that let it leaves fly in the sky, messing with the clouds around.

I smiled at this simple yet wonderful peace. Subhanallah, just hearing and looking around you, makes you feel at peace and calm. No music, no laughing, no words. Nothing but just the wind, the trees, the sky and Allah. And i liked it. I missed it very deeply. Back in the orphanage I used to sit under that gigantic tree in the garden, my quran on my laps and some kids around. I remembered I used to choose a verse from a specific Surah and they had to guess which Surah it was. Hajar would always win. She always had a good memory, she could remember almost everything, except her parents.

"Hey" Yassin whispered.

He stood on the door of the balcony, his left arm laying on the frame and a soft smile spreading on his still sleepy face, revealing a dimple.

"Hey" I whispered back and smiled. "You haven't prayed fajr at time either, right?"

"Nope. Completely forgotten to put on the alarm" he replied yawning and chuckled "Someone forced me to sleep"

I froze remembering last night and awkwardly smiled. I was sleepy and not really conscious of my acts.

"Just kidding!" He geniunely laughed and sat next to me, his legs spread in front of him. "It wasn't entirely your fault"

"Not entirely?" I said raising a brow.

To my surprise, his expression became serious, "Yeah I'm sorry for what I did yesterday night"

I scrunched my brows, not understanding what he was meaning" so he insisted.

"On the sofa" he explained and I laughed which made him relax immediately and a little chuckle escaped his mouth.

"You took your revenge" I replied laughing awkwardly "I must admit it was quite a pleasant revenge"

His laugh rang in my ears I turned to look at him. The world seemed to stop once again, as if the wind slowed down and the leaves hung up in the air.

I put my hand on his hand that I kindly caressed with a smile. He returned the smile and his eyes lit up. It was as if we were letting our walls fall down, creating something new.

We were embracing the moment together and I felt something click between us. Was this what a soulmate was supposed to be? A simple human being making your heart shatter, your mind go wild and your smile never fade away? Someone who could understand you without words?Someone who could stop time and secretely defy the laws of gravity? Someone who made something click, both in the mind and the heart?
