It was cold. The frost bitten air crept under into the blankets that surrounded the wailing toddler. As the small child lay there in the snow, only a few layers of fabric to protect her, something was off. The forest was always a tad edgy, but today, an eerie silence hovered over the usually alive woodland. It could have been that the baby's crying was driving away the creatures that lived in its shade, but I doubt it. Slowly, the baby's wails came to a halt. This child was on the brink of death, her tear stained face was full of pain and suffering, but the inner magic of the infant managed to keep it going.

A spine chilling breeze flew through the thicket as only the odd wail or two from the baby crept through the silence of it all. Y/n was this child. Abandoned by her parents after they discovered she had magic abilities. Now she was here, left to die alone. Y/n was petrified with fear, she was scared to even open her eyes. But, when she did decide to open them. She saw something quit peculiar. The silhouette of some kind of black smudge with great horns that stretched outward. The thing was creeping ever closer with every breathe it took.

When it was finally close enough to see what it was. Y/n saw a young teenage boy. He wore a jagged, crow black robe that stretched to his knees, he wore a hood even though it served no purpose to hide his face. Upon his head he wore some sort of weird skull, it's antlers were then his own arms and they were wrapped with some sort of leather looking rope. The thing that startled Y/n most, was his pale blue skin and blackened out eyes. The boy seemed unbothered by the frostbite that clung to him like woodlice to a log, strange black tattoos that matched the blackness of his fingers and etched across parts of his body. Y/n was even more confused when she discovered, the boy had no shoes.

Y/n was young but she had enough knowledge to know that this boy wasn't a normal person. The boy stopped in front of the infant who was wrapped in a small thin blanket. This would not protect her from the cold for long. And the boy knew that. Now you might have expected him to carry her home and warm her up. And although he did that, he took a slightly, different, approach as to how he did it. In his right hand, he carried a large staff like item that carried a mystical blue gem. He gave his staff a slight wave and just like that, the child and the blanket protecting her lifted into the air as if being carried by an invisible force.
