"I'm still more powerful then you'll ever be! The Eternal Knight is here and you are helpless to stop it!" He howled, a maniacal grin on her face. I felt the magical energy in the ice barrier weakening, as soon as it broke Morgana would be free to take her terrors to the surface.
'SWOOSH' I felt a chill down my spine. Skrael? No this was different. An eerie presence filled the cave, a presence of no wizard I've ever come across. I think Morgana felt it to. She had eased of her magic making the pain in my chest die down. We both stared at the tunnel awaiting whatever horrors, or wonders, will emerge from its depths.
"For the glory of Merlin!" Boomed a voice. Jim? No, this was someone else. Did Jim die!? Did the amulet pick a new troll hunter!? "Daylight is mine to command!" Finished the echoing yell.
A series of blue orbs filled the room, flying into the back and green troll soldiers turning their lime glow into a burning red as they entered. "Unkar the unfortunate no longer!" One rejoiced before his new body crumbled into a pile of rubble forcing him to rush of and find another to possess.
The ghost troll hunters! The big stone brute known as Aaarrrgghh followed behind them. That's what he had left to do! He'd gone to grab us some very helpful assistance. You know what he may have the vocabulary to that of a toddlers but when he has an idea it's often a good one.
The spirits used their new body's to fend of Morgana's magics, leaving us an opening to flee. I turned to Merlin to try and help him to his feet, however, as soon as I reached the old man he waved me away. I started at him with a baffled look plastered onto my face. "Go!" He wheezed through a frenzy of coughs.
I stumbled to my shaky knees, though I didn't run. I was still compensating wether to listen to the old man or to help him regardless. "What are you waiting for!? Stupid girl! Run!" He scolded between gasps of desperate breaths.
Slowly, I started to jog towards the exit, my gaze locked onto the wizard. I was too weak to run. I could barely stay on my feet while jogging. I was clenching my torso with some sort of false hope telling me if I held it tight enough the pain from within would subside. It didn't. And it wasn't going to. My vision was fazing in and out of reality, my gaze blurring by the second.
I felt my self become weightless, but I was still moving. My gaze shot around frantically trying to figure out what was happening. By the time my sight glitched back to normal, my first instinct was to figure out was was going on. After a bit of choking I saw the silhouette of Aaarrrgghh looming above me. I looked down to see myself dangling from his grasp as the two of us sprinted towards the exits.
Aaarrrgghh shattered the ice enclosing us with ease and kept of running towards the others. Who were huddled around a ring of dead trolls, all completely intact from when they died.
Author's POV
Jim stood triumphantly over the jagged remains of Gunmar the Black. With a wisp of blue mist his sword materialised into nothing. The boy's head jolted towards his friends who were running at him. He grinned, a sense of
accomplishment looming over his soul. The group embraced each other, sharing compliments and relieving quotes. "Ummm not to ruin the moment or anything, but why is the night still all eclipsy?" Whined Toby pointing to the swirling vortex in the sky. "Shouldn't Merlin have defeated Morgana by now?"
The band of hero's become uneasy murmuring about why the Eternal Knight was still there. Aaarrrgghh, who was still carrying the semi unconscious body of Y/n hurled into the clearing, a look of distress on his stone face. "Aaarrrgghh! Where's Merlin!"
"In trouble" the large troll creature grunted as he set Y/n down. "He didn't defeat Morgana!?" Blurted Blinky worriedly.
Aaarrrgghh shook his head and pointed to the vortex where a golden goddess hovered, a hue of yellow magic floating around her.
