Sorry about not updating for like 3 weeks, I have been really busy. By the way, the ending of this chapter might seem like it's the end, but it's not. This story isn't nearly finished, for I have so many ideas stored in my brain that I need to write. So I hope that you guys like this chapter.
Violet's POV
As Chris and I were in the limo heading to IHOP, the radio began playing Come a Little Closer by Cage the Elephant. I pronounced, "Oh my gosh, I love this song!" And Chris turned his head to the window with a smile on his face.
Time flies by, they all sang along
After the song ended, the limo finally made its way to the "pancake heaven",as I'd like to call it. Chris got out first on his side and hurriedly made his way over to mine and opened the door. I took his hand and leapt out of the vehicle with excitement. I honestly don't understand the fact why I'm this overjoyed. Yet, it could partially be the effect of riding in a limo with Chris Martin for breakfast. Again, he opened the door to the restaurant for me and exclaimed, "Ladies first." I smiled before entering. A man lead us to to a booth with a brightly polished granite table. I gazed at the man's nametag and saw that his name was Jake. Jake then asked for our drinks and both me and Chris ordered coffee.
Looking at the menu, I tried to decipher whether I wanted an omelot or a blueberry pancake. So for the heck of it, I decided to get an omelot. Our waiter then came back and gave us our drinks. Chris ordered a simple eggs, bacon, and hashbrown combo while I ordered the omelet.
Sitting in this place reminds me alot when I was a child. When I was young, my grandparents and I came here often on every Saturday morning. We were a well circulated family; we laughed and we cried together with happiness. That happiness didn't stay long for conflict happened. That conflict changed my life. I tried staring down at the table to hide my emotions. However, I somehow let a tear escape my eye.
Chris Martin's POV
"What's wrong, Violet? Did I do something to hurt you?" I asked. When I looked in her eyes, it felt like being in the middle of a rainy day and looking out the window to find nothing but a grey sky with clouds as dark as the black hole. Like there wasn't any sunshine left in the world. Looking at her made me feel really bad, and I need to know what's going on. Thankfully, she hesitantly answered and said, "No, you didn't do anything wrong. It's just that this place gives me memories." She then looked down again and I realized that this has something to do with her past.
"Violet, tell me your story. I promise I won't tell anyone and it will be our little secret, OK?" I asked.
"OK," she said.
Violet's POV
I told him everything about the past that's affecting me with sorrow. I felt like I could tell him anything, and I did. Letting out the hidden secrets made me feel more secure with Chris and that's never happened with anyone I've ever met before. He seemed to understand every aspect and detail for he kept nodding his head or he reflected me from earlier by staring down with grief and sadness. However it was hard at first when I began telling him of my grandmother's death reflecting off of my grandfather's. Yet the more I talked, the more content I became with conversing with Chris. When the moment came for Chris to speak, I could tell how much pity he felt for me for he started looking around without trying to connect with my eyes. Yet, when his eyes came to focus with mine, he finally explained how tragic that this is and how sorry he was for me. He began comforting with me by saying how I should forget the past for there's more beautiful things to discover in this world. Before we left the table, he told me, "Just remember that everything's not lost."
