'On the subject of recent reports that several sites of historical and scientific interest are being used for purposes that many of our members disagree with, it should be noted that the Earth Mother Festival has been granted a licence to take place mid-September on land close to John Fuller's monumental Needle.
While this event is hopefully going to be contained by the authorities, and not reach the magnitude of recent illegal 'raves' that have taken place in the heart of the Weald, we still encourage all of our members to voice their concerns to the relevant persons at the district council.
Petitions against the festival are now gathering momentum in several local shops, and for those members who wish to print a copy, the template can be accessed via the society website.'
