Chapter 7: Unchanging Reality

I unmounted my horse and placed it at the stables in our headquarters 

I gripped on Alex's pocket watch

I'm mastering my strength to tell Mrs. Evans of what happened

I walked at the street that I'm familiar with

I could see my younger self running around catching up with Henry and Alex

I could still remember how they defend me from bullies in school 

And they're are always there whenever I needed them 

They never left by my side

They always stick beside me 

But now they are gone 

Forever 

It's an Unchanging Reality 

I couldn't forget how they were devoured mercilessly by the Titans 

And all I did is watch

I couldn't even take revenge

So I need to take that burden in my shoulders along with the others

I was almost near at the house

I feel anxious of what will Mrs. Evans reaction hearing that her son and adoptive son are dead

Every step I take the more guilt rush through me

I feel very anxious

I could already see a small house that I used to stay with Henry and Alex

It seems so far but it's only inches away from me

I took more courage to move forward to the house

I was now at the door

I knocked for a few times to indicate that someone is in the door

The door opened revealing Mrs. Evans

"Faye darling your back" she said with a big smile of hers I weakly smiled back at her 

She let me inside and I sat down at the chair

"Where is Alex and Henry?" she asked

Oh no the question I've been avoiding all this time

"I'm sorry" I said and started crying

She looked at me realizing the fact that her sons won't come back

I was devoured by her gaze

I feel so small and weak

I'm so ashamed of myself

I was shock at what happened next 

"It must be hard, doesn't it?" she said and placed her warm hands at my cheek

I held it tightly and started crying and mumbling apologies to her

"Don't it wasn't your fault" she said softly with a comforting smile with tear stains beside her cheek

"But I couldn't save them" I said between sobs more tears started falling

"No one can. I know it's hard to lose them but please don't blame yourself for everything that happened" she said and held my cheeks with her warm soft hands

"But they were devoured by a titan mercilessly and I just watched them die and suffer in front of me" I said and took out Alex's pocket watch

"This was the only thing that I could retrieve from them" I said and gave her the pocket watch in her hands
