Sakura and [name] sat by each other,

Watching over the old man as he carried wooden planks. Apparently, Kakashi had included [name] to guard over him even though they wanted to sleep. [name] laid their head on Sakura's lap as she ran her hand through their hair and yawned.

" Are you two always this lazy?" Tazuna asked. " Hey, don't call [name] - san lazy." Sakura said in a scolding tone.
" Whatever.. where's that weird blonde kid and the one with the attitude?"

" They're training, climbing trees.", She answered, petting [name]'s hair as they purred, causing Sakura to gasp.

" Too tough for you both?"

" No, in fact, I'm the best. As for [name] - san, they already did this training. Sensei sent me and [name] here to guard you."
She bragged, just as Tazuna stopped walking, he gave Sakura the usual doubtful look [name] gives people when they hear people lie. [name] stirred in their sleep, ears itching at the fact that there were too many noises which the rest cannot hear.

" You're joking." Tazuna said as Sakura had gotten pissed off by this, growling in anger. All of a sudden, a man walked over to the three. " Tazuna, uh, I need to talk to you.", He stated.

" Huh? What about?"

Giichi continued, " The thing is, I've been thinking a lot about the bridge. And I decided I've pushed my luck too far. I want out." This caused Tazuna to feel enraged. " Now you're just going to quit on me, just like that?! You're kidding!"

" You know, I stayed on because of our friendship. But I'm putting my life on the line every time I stay here. Gato and his thugs will show up eventually. When they do, they'll kill you and the bridge will never get finished anyway."

[name] stirred in their sleep, pursing their lips. " I could kill Gato. But.. if my team finds out, they'll start freaking out."

" It's a lost cause, Tazuna. Why don't we stop now while we can still get out of this alive?"

After a few minutes of silence, Tazuna spoke up. " No chance. This is our bridge. Our island is poor, and it will stay that way until it connects to the mainland. Commerce, trade, hope; that's what we're building here!"

Giichi looks away in shame. " There's not going to be much if we're all dead." At this, Tazuna walks away. " It's already noon. Let's have a break for lunch.", He says in a cold manner.

" Tazuna let's not end it like this––"

" Save your breath. Oh, and Giichi, don't bother coming back after lunch." Tazuna then continued to make his way far from us as [name] sat up and heaved themself to stand up, walking over to Tazuna. " Wait, [name]––" Sakura attempts to call out to [name] but they were out of earshot.

" Oi, Tazuna." [name] said, placing a hand on the old man's shoulder. " What is it?" He asked as he looked up at the youngster taller than him. " I'll help with building the bridge.", they offered. " What? Don't you have training or something?"

" No. No I don't. I already had training before the others and I even became a team. And before you ask, I can handle myself perfectly fine."

Tazuna sighs and picked up three wooden planks. " Alright then. Help me carry the planks." [name] nodded and picked up ten of the heavy planks, placing five each on both shoulders and walked away first, leaving a gaping Tazuna behind.
