Addie's POV

"It's already been a decade since we found out all 3 of us were mermaids." Bethany looked at the ocean. We were on the shore, staring into the deep blue. The sun was setting, and it looked beautiful over the sparkling sea. There was just one problem...

We were mermaids.

We had to accept that. If our necklaces get wet, then we grow a tail. Mine was light green, Beth's was dark green, and Cierra's was a light magenta. Each of our shells were weaved onto a thick lace, and could glow the color of our tails. Cierra glanced at us and smiled.
"I'm glad we could see the sunset." She sighed. "Yeah. But Jordan and Isaac must be worried sick. We can't swim in there or anything." I replied. "Who said we could anyways? No swimming is allowed due to the time." Bethany poked her watch. "Well, I guess we should head back home." I said and got up from laying down. "Your back is covered in sand!" Bethany laughed. I brushed my hand on my back and felt nothing but sand. "Aw man! This is a new shirt!" I giggled
"It's alright, it happens to the best of us." Bethany looked around for any humans. "Ok, let's leave before anyone finds us." "What's the big deal? We're in our human forms." I asked. "I'm just paranoid, that's all." Bethany flinched. We looked around and began to walk to our house. "We're home!" I shouted. "Where were you guys? Me and Isaac were looking everywhere for you 3. You had me worried sick, and Isaac wouldn't shut up about how he wants to play G-mod!" Jordan seemed a tad annoyed. "We were at the grocery store!" Bethany responded, quickly. "Where's the groceries?" Jordan asked. "Uhhh... We ate them." Cierra jumped in. I didn't want to say anything because y'know, they're my older sisters, they know what they're doing. I hope. "Oh. So you all just went on a tiny shopping spree for gum and stuff?" He began to calm down. "Yeaaah!" We looked at each other. "Then you could have just told me." He rolled his eyes and went back to his room. Phew! That was close. "Hey guys! Where have you been?" Isaac asked. He didn't seem annoyed, or if he was, he was hiding it well. "We went shopping! You know, just a little shopping spree, n stuff." I stuttered. "Oh. Well just tell us next time. Jordan was getting really worried." You don't say? We nodded and walked into the kitchen. "Hey, guys. When's the next full moon? I'm starting to feel weird." I asked. "I believe it is tonight. That would explain some things." Bethany looked around. "Yeah, you're not usually this paranoid about being found out." Cierra stated. "Yeah, we better go to our rooms, quick. Last month when we broke into singing, geeze. I don't want a repeat of that." Bethany agreed. "Especially when we stopped singing, Jordan and Isaac were like, what the heck?" I said. "I remember that! That was funny." Cierra giggled. "Yeah, let's go before the moon rises." Bethany said, and we sprinted upstairs. We closed the door and closed the curtains. "Hey, guys? Do you think Jordan and Isaac would be ok with us being half fish?" I asked. "I don't know. The real problem we have to worry about, is if they tell anyone." "Then how do we tell them? Just walk up and say, Imma fish, and walk away?" Cierra said. "You're a bird, and you're walking away." Bethany joked. "Guys, we can't just tell them at all! They have to find out themselves, or 1 of 2 things will happen. 1 being we turn into bubbles, and 2 is they might turn into bubbles." "How do you know that's not just a myth?" "I don't, ok? I just don't wanna take any risks." I replied. "She's got a point. We can't take any chances, not when all this treachery in the world exists. We need to protect the seas, and our identity." Bethany agreed. "Good point..."
