Since telling the group, JJ and John B have not shut up about the fact that Pope is related to the Denmark Tanny. It was pretty cool to hear that Pope is related to him and to Denmark's wife. So, Limbrey is probably interested in Pope because of that fact, but that still doesn't explain why the key is so damn important to her.
But we will find out why, that much I can promise because this has just gotten personal now that we know Pope is related to the Denmark Tanny.
I can't believe it. I can't stop saying it.
"Are we in the presence of a royal?"
"A king?" JJ steps over to Pope, holding his hands up. "We shall crown him. All hail the Lord of Tannyhill." He speaks in a ridiculous British accent as he puts a fake crown upon his head.
"Can we all relax?" Pope begs, exhausted from having to listen to us fawn over him and this news.
"How soon can we move in?"
"'Cause I don't have a place to stay," JJ chimes in, nudging me.
"Bunk bed. Cheers to that." JJ and Kiara clink beer cans, bringing a smile out of me.
JJ then lifts his arm, resting it over my shoulders and knocking his beer can into mine, eyes locked on mine as he tilts the can back to take a sip. I like having him the close to me, especially in public. The simple act of him putting his arm around me is small enough to not raise any questions from our friends whilstproviding us both with a small ounce of comfort. It's great.
"I just keep thinking about the letter, the one that Limbrey sent," Pope says, bringing us back to the reality of this situation. "It had the wheat symbol on it. That must mean it has something to do with the Royal Merchant."
