Sasoris POV Now that I think about it I don't think I like deidara as much as I thought I would. I mean the kiss was nice but he doesn't seem like the one for me. I rub my temples and walk outside waiting for deidara to pick me up. "So when's the date?" Konan asks walking to me from out of nowhere.
"Whenever he gets here." I would have drove myself but me and deidara get breakfast every morning so he always picks me up and drives me home. I can already see deidaras car turning the corner definitely going way over the speed limit.
I can feel a pair of eyes on me but it's probably just Konan. I turn around and holy hell is tobi one of the akatsuki leaders with someone tell next to him. By this time deidara had gotten out of his car and ran over to me looking at the two akatsuki members.
"Are you okay?" He asks checking me for injurys, all I can do is nod. I've never been this close to one after they shot me. The bullet only grazed me but that was enough for chief to take me off the case. "If I fire do you think others will come out and arrest them?" I ask him putting a hand on my gun.
"Can't hurt if you try." He replies backing up to his car probably to get his gun. "So you want to date my deidara." Tobi says making me and deidara freeze. I shake my head trying to forget what he said and pull my gun out. Deidara got his gun and pointed it at the tall one while I pointed mine at tobi.
"What's the plan?" I ask deidara making him shrug "I don't know shoot?" He questions. I nod and pull the trigger. Deidara has also pulled his trigger but nothing happened "it's ja-" he gets cut off by a gasp and a laugh. I look forward and see the worst thing imaginable.
The bullet that was supposed to hit tobi hit ino instead. "INO!" Deidara yells running to her, I look around for tobi but they had already ran away like the cowards they are. I pocket my gun before rubbing over to deidara and ino.
"She's g-gone." Deidara stutters out before looking up at me. A few other officers walking out and look at ino as well as a few bystanders who witnessed the whole thing. "DEIDARA WHY ARE YOU HERE AND WHAT HAPPENED." Chief sasuke yells out. Ino had been like a sister to us I can't believe she's gone and it's my fault.
"I saw the whole thing. Two dangerous men showed up and tried to kill sasori but deidara had saved him, they shot her before running away." A crying voice says walking over to us. A small smile plays on my lips once I realize that voice belongs to my idiot of a sister.
"Karin what are you doing here?" I ask (ik they aren't related but let's just go with it for the story lol) "I was bringing you lunch." She winks at me holding a bag in her hand. I mouth get a thanks before looking back at deidara.
"I can't believe she's dead. I didn't even see her walk out I was to focused on tobi and that tall dude. "Of course you saw it Karin alright come to my office so we can talk." Chief sasuke says rolling eyes.
Karin had the biggest crush on him a few years ago and she always tried to be with him but eventually gave up because she found someone knew, She won't tell me who tho. "Sasori go home for now I'll contact you later and same for you deidara." I nod and walk to deidaras car before looking around to try and find deidara but he's gone.
Deidaras POV I can't believe ino is dead she was like a sister to me. I slip my keys in sasoris pocket knowing he'll be careful with my car. I put my headphones one and plug them into my phone putting on some music. 'I'mstill standing by elton John' plays before I start running off.
Whenever I was sad or after a fight with my parents I'd always use music to cope. Especially Elton John and Elvis Presley they helped me a lot growing up. I didn't start going for runs until when I was about 16. I didn't even want to be a FBI agent I wanted to become a vet or something that worked with animals.
I sigh and look up and the shop in front of me. The animal shelter. I don't know why but I always end up running here. I might as well go in and see what they have. I pause my music and walk in. I'm immediately hit with dread I see a little girl crying with what looks like her mother in tears rubbing her back.
"Hey it's okay don't cry. I can buy you a a doll." I tell the child looking at her mother making sure it's okay. She gives me and nod and I walk over to the counter and pay for a stuffed animal that looks like a bulldog. "Thank you. My job doesn't pay well so I can't keep our dog and he probably won't make it here because of his age." She sniffles before hugging her daughter once again.
"What kind of dog is he?" I ask her handing the bulldog toy to her daughter. "He's an old basset hound. He's 6 years." She tells me with a slight smile probably thinking about the memories with them. "Can I talk to you alone please?" I ask the mom with a huge smile. "Go to the car with your father I'll be there soon." The mom sends her daughter off rubbing the tears from her eyes.
"I'll adopt him if you can show me where he is." I tell her smiling even bigger than before. She gasps before hugging me "thank you thank you so much." She plants a big kiss on my cheek. I would have minded but she looks about 23 or around that age probably a teen mom.
"Yep what's his name?" The lady at the desk probably overheard what happened so she was already in the back probably getting the dog. "His name is Oliver he also goes by ollie." She hugs me one last time before someone comes in and I'm assuming it's her husband. "HONEY look his amazing man offered to adopt him!" She yells with happy tears running down her face.
The man who looks about 30 smiles and shakes my hand. "Want to say goodbye?" The woman who works her asks the couple holding the dog In her hands. I will admit he's a very beautiful dog. "Goodbye my sweet baby I hope you have fun with this police officer you might even be able to help with his job." She whispers to the dog kissing his head.
I look at what I'm wearing and realize that's how she knows I'm a officer or was I guess I'm more of a agent now. The husband just kisses his head and sniffles before smiling and walking out with his wife. "If you could follow me I'll give you the paperwork to fill out for this handsome man." She hands me the dog before walking away to get papers.
Well looks like I own a dog now. I take out my phone and text the group chat that has me Itachi, sasori, hidan, and Konan. I'm guessing I'm still in some sort of shock about inos death because I stopped crying once I got to the shelter.
I take a picture of Ollie and send it the the group chat. I smile and the dog and put my phone away. "Well looks like you will be coming to work with me from now on." As if the dog understands me he licks my cheek and lays in my lap.
