Beeep... Beeep... Beeepbeeepbeeep...
Alex managed to crack open an eye, his vision blurry from sleep as he quietly groaned into his pillow. It was a little after 5 in the morning, which meant it was time to start getting ready for work. Though, his half awake brain begged his body to stay in bed and get at least thirty minutes of more sleep. Alex's eye began to droop as he blindly swatted for the alarm, finally smacking it to shut off the alarm. Letting out a content sigh, his arm fell from his scroll that was sitting on the bedside table, hanging off the side of his bed as sleep was about to return to him.
That is, until someone began knocking on the door of his bedroom, startling Alex as he shot upwards and quickly stood ready, thinking it was his boss.
Klein: "Alex? Are you awake?"
Alex: "Oh! Father! Y-Yes, I'm awake, just finishing getting ready."
Klein: "Oh really? So if I were to open the door, I'd find my son properly dressed and ready for the morning?"
Alex nervously gulped as he looked at his current state of undress in the body mirror beside his door. Wearing only a pair of pyjama bottoms, and his shoulder length hair looked like it exploded. Alex could practically see the knowing smirk of his father, despite the thick mahogany door between them.
Alex: "Uh... sorry, father. I-I'll be out in five minutes."
Alex could hear a distinct chuckle from the other side of the door, as he quickly set out his work uniform before he began to wrangle in his mess of a hair.
Klein: "You never could lie to me, my boy. I'll begin with breakfast, see you in the kitchen."
Once Alex managed to pull his hair into a ponytail, he began to dress into his work uniform. A similar outfit that his father wears, but was also distinct from the other workers of the Schnee Manor. While most wore black vests, Alex had been permitted to wear a navy blue vest and with a white undershirt and black tie. With the suit, he was also allowed to have his weapons on hand, thanks to the insistence from Willow Schnee. He took a quick glance at his scroll to see it was almost 6, his eyes widening as he tried to quickly finish getting ready.
Alex groaned as he fumbled with tying his tie, before opening up his closet. Inside was the case that contained his gauntlets, which would also provide a small charge of electricity dust. He quickly clasped the bracers around his wrists, before sliding his shirt over them. Inspecting himself one last time in the mirror, Alex bolted out of his room, but didn't get very far.
???: "My, my, Alex. Over slept?"
Alex closed his eyes and silently groaned to himself. Busted! He thought to himself, as he spun around and bowed.
Alex: "My apologies, sir. I was just on my way to bring all of you your morning cups of tea and coffee."
A hand was placed on his shoulder, raising him upwards. Alex let out a sigh of relief, upon seeing Whitley Schnee looking up at him.
Alex: "Master Whitley, you sounded so much like your father."
Whitley snickered to himself before giving a playful glare at Alex.
Whitley: "How many times must I tell you? Don't call me 'Master Whitley' when it's just the two of us? You're practically my brother."
Alex smiled and pulled Whitley into a quick hug, ruffling his hair while earning laughter from the youngest Schnee. Despite the different in social standings, Alex had always been seen more as a sibling than a servant in the eyes of the Schnee children. Though, they kept up pretences when Jacques was around, out of fear that the idea would cost Alex and Klein their positions and employments.
