A little piece of heaven

Chapter 8

Taken care of

Tang woke up with a smile on his face. At least it was spring now and the flowers were nice and bright. Pigsy had already gone into work, luckily it was Tangs day off. Working as a college professor he got odd days off a week. Which left him some time to spend with his son. He sat in his walker as Tang made some cereal for them both. Xiaotian had baby cereal and Tang had regular cereal.

Being seven months old meant that he'd get some flavoring in his cereal now and today meant he got something new. Monday...so Tang decided to let him try peaches. The kid absolutely loved that. Tang would just dip the spoon into the cereal and let Xiaotian stick it into his mouth. It taught him where the spoon would go. He never handed it back though, he would nibble on the spoon before Tang would just take it back and they would do it all over again.

It was fun to just watch him enjoy his first times. He wrote it down on a piece of paper and placed it up onto the fridge so they knew what week he started some foods. That way just in case he had an allergic reaction to it they would know when it happened. Last week was applesauce and he didn't like it as much as he did the peaches that was for sure. He didn't like the pears too much, but he ate them. Next week was banana's.

Once finished Tang pulled on MK's clothing for the day and walked outside spreading out the blanket he let his son crawl around and examine the world around him. He never left the blanket, Tang was pretty sure his son was afraid of grass. That was okay, Tang thought it was adorable. MK crawled up to him and curled up on his lap and started to babble away. He wished he could understand all the things he was actually saying, but it was much too soon for that. It was okay though, Tang still answered him back they would talk for hours if given the chance.

Yet it had begun to rain and that wasn't unusual for spring. Both dad and baby went back inside. Tang sat the blanket down on the floor and turned on the news. Just in case this turned into a thunderstorm.

Tang came back over with a bottle and the leftover hot pot. MK plucked up the bottle and shoved it into his mouth and lay back. Tang chuckled as he supervised his son.

Xiaotian had begun to eat on his own like that for about two weeks. Napping seemed to be on the menu as well. It didn't take too long before the bottle fell out of his hands and he was snoring away. Tang chuckled as he pulled a blanket up onto him.

Sitting back Tang started to watch the news, and listen to the light thunder outside the rain. He polished off the bowl and went to wash it out.

He heard the door open and close again.

"Hey Tang!" Pigsy called from the door.

"Shhhhh I just got him to sleep. He pl..." Tang touched his forehead. He suddenly felt really dizzy.

"Tang?"

Tang could hear Pigsy's words as if he were in a tunnel. He looked up to see the pig demon walk toward him quickly. He was in his arms quickly. He couldn't feel much else as his cheek sat on his shoulder. He strained to hear his husband call his name. He turned to see his son crying. He must have yelled it.

He wasn't sure how long it had been. Things were going by in slow motion. He could see the paramedic over him as Pigsy had Xiaotian on his shoulder. Patting the poor boys back trying to get him to calm down. Yet the concern on his features said it all. Something was wrong with him...something bad.

"Poison...?" Pigsy asked the paramedic as they walked into the back of the EMT.
