A little piece of heaven
Chapter 9
Where?
The nurse knocked on the door. The crying from within caused her to cringe. She didn't mean to wake the baby, but she did have to come in and collect the vitals. She opened the door to spot Pigsy with Xiaotian in his arms patting his back.
"Sorry about that." the nurse whispered as she went over to Tangs equipment with the clipboard. Her pen scribbled over the paper quickly as she watched Pigsy over the top of the equipment. Xiaotian must have discovered the window since he was looking at the glowing lights of the buildings along one side.
"Curious little guy." The nurse pulled something from the trolley she moved into the room. Preparing to take Tangs blood. Pigsy cleared his throat as he motioned to the purple sign. The nurse gasped realizing she was totally about to violate Tangs rights to not have his blood taken. Technically it had something to do with the Tripitaka thing. One drop of his blood could cause immortality. They didn't need to know that part.
There was another tap on the door and a police officer walked into the room. His eyes weaved between Pigsy and Tang then the young boy.
"I'm here to ask questions, is he able to wake up?" The officer was incredibly tall and Pigsy was sure he was at least half demon. He turned around as someone incredibly short walked around him. She was a lot smaller and her cat-like ears stuck out from her black and gray hair.
"Oh sorry to disturb you so late. We figured it would be a lot easier to talk to him after letting him rest some. Looks like he's still not awake though." She looked up at the other demon that just nodded down to her. Obviously they were partners.
"Yeah, he hasn't woken up yet." He looked down at the infant that still looked like he was very much interested in the outside. "We'll tell the nurses to tell you when he does though. We want this whole poisoning business investigated. Who would want to hurt him? He's a kind, caring man that grew up in a ministry. The only reason why he left was to teach history at the university." Pigsy sighed pulling his son closer to him.
"We'll find out Mr. Zhu. You and your son keep resting and we'll get to the bottom of this. Can you tell us where you were eating at? You told the EMT that he had just finished eating. He had the bowl in his hand."
"Yeah, yeah it was Za Ri Ky's place." He answered "It was left overs from the night before. Right after we found out that my restaurant was burned down. I had been over with the contractors to look over and change a few things about the blueprints to have it repaired. Trying to get a bigger bathroom is harder than I thought." He chuckled and cleared his throat.
"I'm sure the contractor will vouch for you then." The woman looked up from her notes.
"Yeah, he's a monk at the temple a few blocks from here. Its where Tang grew up." Pigsy felt Xiaotian put his head down on his shoulder making a whimpering noise. Pigsy knew what that meant. He was hungry now and wanted his bottle. Pigsy worked on second nature as he picked up the diaper bag and placed his son down on the end of Tangs bed. MK yawned, and tried to just curl up.
"Uh oh." The female officer giggled. "Mine got upset if he wasn't changed, bottled, and asleep after being woken up. You might have a bit of time maybe."
"I'm sorry, whats your name?" Pigsy asked as he pulled his son back over and pulled his shorts off and diaper too. The other officer turned around. It was when Pigsy noticed the sword on his back. No guns, just a sword. How odd...
"I'm Lit Maw Rin, and this is Lit Detective Shari Ketz." She informed Pigsy. He knew that name...Shari Ketz...perhaps from...
"Pigsy..." Pigsy's ear twitched and he turned to see the almond eyes of his husband opened slightly. "Where..." Pigsy picked up Xiaotian in his arms and walked over and looked down at him kindly.
"Hospital. You've been out for a little while." He told him. Pigsy felt something warm along his chest. He looked down at his shirt and realized quickly that his son was still not wearing a diaper. Pigsy cleared his throat and looked down at the giggling infant. He could see the softly giggling officer. The other one, Ketz, looked like the ceiling tial was very entertaining.
"Boy..." Pigsy put his son down and placed a diaper on him. "You are not funny." He however had a big smile on his face.
