𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗱𝘆𝗻 𝗦𝗸𝘆𝗲 was a simple guy really.
The dude has always thought of himself as average. "I'm an average guy really, it's just that simple and complicated." He would say.
To others though, that was not the case.
Cause Raidyn was so simple minded, he was pretty blunt. And because he was so blunt and straight forward with pretty much anything at all, he came off as a self centric downright asshole.
A lot of people from his old school in Toronto, Canada, hated his guts and apparently girls found his attitude quite badass.
But Raidyn being Raidyn, had no interest what so ever.
Raidyn was the type of guy who would rather chill at home at home with his video games than be out to socialize with people.
The guy enjoyed any type of sport though. If he had to pick a favorite one, it would be volleyball.
Raidyn had friends, but they were not the kind of people he would genuinely have fun with. He also hung out with his teammates occasionally but, in the end..again they were just his 'volleyball mates'.
Besides, he enjoyed staying home to hang in with his big brother.
𝗞𝗼𝗮 𝗦𝗸𝘆𝗲. Even though Koa was three years older than he was, Raidyn was still protective over him. The thing is, Koa is a proud gay adult, but when Raidyn was in his junior year and Koa in his senior year, he got bullied a lot.
The younger of the two would always beat the bullies up because according to him, "Big bro can love who ever he wants to love! Who are you to decide for him!?"
Koa would feel so loved because of his little sunshine of a brother. The two were basically always together, so, if Raidyn would have to choose a best friend from back in Canada,he'd choose Koa.
He would always choose Koa.
The Skye family had decided to move to the boys' dad's birthplace, the quiet town of Fallbrook, California, from Toronto because apparently, "We need a change of scenario." Said the boys' mom once.
The boys were okay with it.
Raidyn was just being himself and didn't care either ways. He was fine with anything as long as he had his family, it's not like he had anyone who he'd miss or anyone who would miss him in the first place, his only best friend was his older brother after all so it didn't really matter.
The flight from Toronto to California wasn't all that long, 4 hours and 52 minutes were not bad actually, but, when they reached California it was just starting to rain and it would take them atleast 2 hours to reach Fallbrook. That was fine, they could just spend the day in a hotel and then go to the house they were going to live in when the rain stops. Raidyn was actually enjoying his time with his family.
They have always been close and the boys' parents were so loving and supportive of their two sons. They've always been proud of whatever they achieved.
"It doesn't matter what the result is, the process matters the most in the end." Their dad would always tell them both.
They'd remind Koa that they are happy for him because his sexuality does not define him as a person, to them, both of their boys were the biggest blessings they could've ever received and they couldn't have asked for anything more.
Besides being a blunt and simple kid, Raidyn loved easily, he loves his family, he loves spending time by himself and he loved volleyball. He just hasn't met people he was attached to.
Sure he had girls and some boys fawning over him, but a lot of people disliked him too, he'd have a hard time making friends because he was really honest, to the point and oblivious of how many people he had unintentionally hurt and made them feel inferior to him, so the kids and classmates would avoid talking to him.
Raidyn was oblivious, but he wasn't that dense. He knew his volleyball mates would invite him to hangout with them, but he knew they didn't actually want him there. It was just 'team bonding time' and he was okay with that.
"It doesn't matter anyways." He'd tell himself and...he just got used it.
So, he quite literally means it when he says that he's an average guy.
That easy and that complicated.
The Skye family had been able to move and unpack their things by the time night came, well not everything of course, but a few important necessities.
Before they moved to Fallbrook, the Skye brothers had got their enrollment in their new school. Koa had always been an artist by heart, so he decided to go to "Fallbrook School of The Arts", and Raidyn had to complete his senior year, so he got in "Fallbrook Academy", apart from being athletically active, Raidyn was academically smart as well.
"It's just some numbers and some words that you have to turn to equations and paragraphs. It's common sense really. Apparently, I do have that." He would reply to anyone who confronted him about it.
It was already a new day and Raidyn was exhausted. He got like, four hours of sleep. It was his first day in his new school.
He was just starting to get ready for his day when he happened to look out of his room's window to see a girl with pretty black long messy hair staring at his house.
Raidyn yawned and got to thinking about his outfit when he suddenly snapped his head back to the girl cause what the fuck!?, and then she walked away.
Raidyn's eyes followed her figure as she disappeared down the street.
