Morgan's pov
After I lied to my parents I began to walk to the beginning of the train tracks, that's where Chris told us to all meet up at.when I finally made it Chris was telling all of us about the gun he took from his old man,"is that necessary?"I asked."Yeah,I mean what do we need a pistol for anyway?"Vern asked,"It's spooky sleeping out at night in the woods. You might see a bear—or a garbage can."Chris explained,we all laughed."I brought a comb."Vern said, taking out a comb from one of his bag pockets."what do we need a comb for Vern?"I asked,"Well, if we get on TV we wanna look good, don't we?"he replied."that's a lot of thinking Vern."Gordie said,"thanks."Vern said proudly as he put his comb away.Teddy then faked a punch to Vern's face,Vern flinched."Two for flinchin'."Teddy said as he slugs Vern twice on the shoulder.

"Ow!"Vern said as he rubbed his shoulder,"how far do you think it's gonna be?"i asked."If we follow the tracks all the way into Harlow, should be about twenty miles."Chris replied,"Sound about right to you Gordie?"he asked Gordie."yeah, yeah,it might be even thirty."Gordie replied,"Gee,maybe we should just hitchhike."Vern suggested."no way!"I exclaimed,"that sucks!"Teddy exclaimed as well."Why not?We could go out to Route 7 to the Shiloh church, then down the Back Harlow Road. We'll be there by sundown."Vern explained,I shook my head in disappointment."thats pussy."Teddy said,"hey,it's a long ways."Vern said."Did your mother ever have any kids that lived?"Teddy asked,"what do you mean?"Vern asked in confusion.Teddy just shook his head,I didn't really get what he said either.but I didn't want to admit it,I wanted to look cool in front of the guys.
