No one's pov
As the group entered town,they pause in the street before going their own ways.No one quite knows what to say,"see you in school."Vern is the first one to speak.

"Yeah."

"Yeah."

"Yeah."

"See ya in junior high school."

As Vern walks away he finds a coin in the street and bends down to pick it up. He holds it up to show his friends as he walks away."A penny!"he exclaimed happily,"Well, guys-I better get home before my mom puts me on the Ten Most Wanted list."Teddy said.Teddy starts to walk away, but stops and turns around."Hey, Chris. No hard feelings, okay?"he said,"No way man."Chris said.Teddy begins walking away in another direction,As he walks he begins to sing.""Have Gun, Will Travel" reads the card of a man. A knight without armor in a savage land. His fast gun for hire..."

Morgan's pov
It's amazing how so much can change after one simple journey,I saw less and less of my friends in school.Teddy and I finally confessed our feelings to each other and dated,we went from a high school couple to a married couple.it all seemed so fast to me,but it was all so slow.I heard that Vern got married out of High School,had four kids,and is now the forklift operator at the Arsenault Lumberyard.as for Chris and Gordie?i heard from Gordie that him and Chris did eventually get out of town.He enrolled in the college courses with Gordie,and although it was hard, he gutted it out like he always did.He went on to college and eventually became a lawyer.

Last week he entered a fast food restaurant. Just ahead of him, two men got into an argument-one of them pulled a knife. Chris, who had always made the best peace, tried to break it up. He was stabbed in the throat. He died almost instantly.Although I hadn't seen him in more than ten years, I know I'll miss him forever.i sniffed as I struggled to hold back tears."mommy are you ok?"my son asked me,"I'm fine Kris,I'm fine."I assured him.i tucked him into bed again and gently kissed his forehead,"goodnight Kris."i said."goodnight mama."he said,he yawned and closed his eyes.i gently got up from his bed,I closed the lights and turned on his nightlight.i closed the door and exhaled,"you ok Morgan?"Teddy asked.i smiled and nodded,"I'm alright...I'm ok."I said.

I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?
