Both Barbara and Venti were in the office of Grand Master Jean, while Jean herself had her eyes closed with a pissed expression. She was gripping on her shoulder, trying not to explode.
"So care to explain what happened?" Jean started.
"Oh I was just-...uhhh....just trying to be playful with Barbara that's all." Venti smiled sincerely.
His smile evanesced, as Jean's scary eyes locked onto his. He begins to shiver a bit, which is odd since he doesn't normally get scared of her.
She then looks at Barbara with rage in her eyes.
"Barbara, you better start talking too!" Jean leered at her.
"I was hanging out with friends, and Venti insulted my Lord. So I demanded him to apologize, which he kept making jokes, resulting in tears. But he began to comfort me and be sincere with me. But the moment he fell on me was the moment I was chasing him because he was faking his prayer of apology." Barbara said, looking down on the ground in shame.
Jean just sighed in annoyance and rubbed her template. Jean was thinking about a punishment for the two.
"Well you're still grounded since many people saw you with him!" Jean spat out.
"What?? But I told you the truth! I get it that I'm an idol and people saw but-" Barbara was cut off by Jean putting her hand up to silence her sister.
"Barbara, many people here look up to you. Being with Venti here might ruin your reputation. Matter of fact, no offense to Venti, but he's homeless. Your reputation will be ruined." Jean said softly in a calm tone. She doesn't want to explode and scare her sister.
"I-..." Barbara was scared since she knows what happens when her older sister slowly talks calmly.
"I'm sorry! It won't happen again. Please don't punish me!" Barbara places her head onto the floor.
Venti really felt guilty at this point, which he stood up to speak, trying to stand up for Barbara.
"Master Jean, it was just an accident. I slipped and fell onto her when she was chasing me. I understand how protective you are of your sister, but please don't punish her. Punish me instead since I was the one who started it." Venti took accountability.
Barbara looks up to see Venti offered for a punishment, in return to let her go free. She blushes and realizes how a kind person Venti is.
"I see....okay then. Barbara, you are no longer grounded. As for you Venti, your punishment is that you are forbidden from seeing my Barbara, and coming near the Cathedral. I'll make sure Outrider Amber and Noelle are on the lookout if they spot you. In fact if you ever do go near her or the building, I'm gonna extend your ban, and probably give you a physical punishment for hitting on my sister!" Jean said.
"Forbid? For how long?" Venti and Barbara both asked in unison.
"Just for a week. Can you handle it?" Jean's brow raised, leering at Venti.
"Okay, it's fine. I can handle it." Venti forced a smile, which honestly he was just really hurt that he can't see her for a while.
"Good! You two are dismissed." Jean said, which both got out.
Barbara thanked Venti, rewarding with a sweet gentle hug. Venti blushed and hugged her back.
"It's just a week, I'm sure you can handle it." Barbara winked at him.
"Yeah, I can do it." Venti lied, feeling foolish for saying that he would, but he isn't.
As both parted ways, the ban happened and Venti just went back to the Tavern to drink himself to relieve the emotional pain.
"So what happened? Usually you would be happy and joyful as you drink. As well as making annoying jokes." Diluc asked, his mind filled with curiosity.
"I and Barbara got in trouble, so Grand Master Jean punished both of us. But I told her to punish me instead, which honestly the punishment is basically I'm banned from the cathedral and seeing Barbara." Venti sighed.
"For how long?" Diluc raised his brow.
"A week..." Venti burped.
"That's it? That's nothing not gonna lie." Diluc chuckles.
"I know but, I hate to admit it but I think I'm in love with Barbara...." Venti confessed, which Diluc's brow raised again.
"I mean if you love her I think you should confess. Rumors are spreading about you two at the moment, I mean hell some people here are talking about it. I mean look right now, they're all staring at you." Diluc's pupil locked onto the customers.
Venti looked and yeah, Master Diluc was right. Everyone in the bar were all staring at Venti with envy and hate.
"But yeah, I think you should confess. I mean you took accountability and helped her not be punished. I think in her eyes, she really appreciated you doing that. But again though, this ban isn't that long, why be upset?" Diluc said.
"Well....yeah....I guess you're right. I mean 1 week isn't too long." Venti said.
"Plus if you two do end up together, I highly recommend not to hurt her or do anything to her. I am sure that Jean would probably kill you, and I mean actual kill, since she is really protective of her sister." Diluc warned.
"I see....but....note taken. But I do wish for Barbara to see my true identity. That I'm the god that she's been worshipping and idolizing." Venti burped.
This got Diluc's eyes widened.
"Listen to me closely, don't reveal yourself to her. If you do, her dreams will be crushed." Diluc said in a serious tone.
"What you mean?" Venti asked.
"She idolizes you and worships you non-stop, if she figures out that you're now a homeless drunkard, her love for you will be crushed. Matter of fact, she probably won't want to be near you anymore in my view. I mean if I was a female and realized that an idol I love is a drunk lord, then I would avoid him forever." Diluc chuckles.
Venti nodded and wished he could confess and reveal the truth. He thought that if she loves him, then she will love him no matter what he is. He nodded and thanked Diluc for the talk. He dashed out of the Tavern, where everyone in the bar stood up and wanted to go after the bard.
While Diluc jumped and blocked the door, his sword was ready to strike.
"Sit and drink!" Diluc growled.
Everyone turns back in fear and resumes their drinking.
