Chapter 9 Date

Barbara's Pov

The weekend is almost over, and I'm just working on my duties at the cathedral. I have to put up a fake smile and positive attitude since I didn't want the maids and Rosaria to see how I'm feeling. It was still morning and the sun was really hot. I decided to go take a small break, by taking a stroll around Cider Lake. I gently put my feet into the cold water just to cool off. I would like to go for a swim but my break is only about 20 to 25 minutes. If I was swimming it might take a while to dry my clothes.

I just closed my eyes as my feet were being cooled by the cold water. It felt relaxing, but I wish it was a hot spring. I begin to ponder as I breathe. A full 10 minutes went by and I pulled out my feet to take turns putting my hands into the water. During my pondering, I was just wondering how Venti and Traveler are doing? I hope they're okay. As I closed my eyes again, I began to imagine Venti here with me. I begin to feel giddy as I imagine him feeding me with apples and sweets. I can feel my face beginning to heat, as I slowly begin to giggle. Then I gently open my eyes to see....

"AHHHH!" I screamed as I fell back in reaction.

Seeing Venti smiling at me, his face so close to my face.

"You miss me?" Venti smiled brightly with his eyes closed.

"DON'T DO THAT YOU JERK! I COULD HAVE GOTTEN A HEART ATTACK!" I shouted, scowling at the goofball who was just laughing.

Then I felt a hand on my head and I screamed again, splashing hydro energy magic into the predator's face. To which I realized that it was traveler and Paimon.

"Oh jeez! Paimon told you to just call her name instead of touching her! Never touch a woman without her consent you dummy!" Paimon said, quaking around as she floats, making her lecture more intense.

"You too Aether? Don't scare me like that!" I got up putting my hands onto my hips in a fit.

"I thought you might miss me?" Venti pouted.

I glared at him while he began to laugh nervously.. I legit want to smack the annoying bard, but I can't stay mad at him. I just let out a sigh and I finally expressed how I felt.

"Venti....don't do that okay?" I begin.

"You just look very cute when you are trying to cool off." Venti smiled.

"Venti....listen I wanted to hang out, but....now I'm busy now. I can't blame you since you were helping out traveler here." I said, looking at Aether, who was talking to Paimon.

I assume that the two were giving us privacy.

"Barbara, I will take you out." Venti said, stepping out of the water.

"But I'm busy-" I was cut off as Venti placed his hand onto my lips.

"I'll talk to the nuns for you, plus your sister too." Venti said smiling. He released my lips then suddenly jumped as the wind boosted him up. I gasped as he was heading to Mondstadlt.

"VENTI!!!" I shouted.

Sprinting after him, I can hear him laughing as he lands and dashing towards the gate.

As I reached the cathedral, I was panting like crazy. I entered and saw Venti talking to some of the nuns and Rosaria. I gasped and ran to him, tackling him down.

"VENTI! What the heck! I didn't consent for you to go tell the people here to-" I was cut off as the nuns spoke.

"It's okay, she can go for the day." Rosaria said, I was stunned when I heard her say that.

"Really? Sweet!" Venti jumped with excitement, creating wind into the room as he floated into the air.

"VENTI DOWN NOW!" I demanded.
