Chapter 21 Defend the city

Aether shouted his sister's name, which got the blonde girl's attention. Lumine looked down upon the ground, her golden eyes filled with hate.

"Oh dear god!" Venti blurted out.

"Barbara help me!" Rosaria said, running towards some of the mages, some were pyro and cryo.

Venti also forced himself to run with them, he shot an arrow that sucked up the mages with their shields as the winds were trying to crack. Then Rosaria and Barbara both attacked.

Barbara splashed water to melt the pyro shield from the pyro mage. Rosaria on the other hand slashed them with her spear and soon began to freeze the hydro mages. Then Rosaria finished both of them.

Paimon on the other hand was trying to make Aether move but he was stuck like if he was glued to the cement, or either that he was paralyzed to see his sister floating in the sky with a hateful glare.

"Aether move! Before she kills both of us!" Paimon screamed. Then Lumine raised her hand, then forced it down, summoning giant geo meteors coming down trying to aim at her brother.

Paimon saw the rocks coming down and she screamed for Aether to move.

"AETHER MOVE!!!" Paimon grabbed his arm and tried to pull him. But before the rock landed onto them, they both were grabbed by someone. That someone saved them and led them to a different area near Venti, Barbara, Jean and Rosaria.

"Dain?" Paimon gasped.

"I'm sorry I'm late for the party." Dain sighed.

"She would-....kill me?" Aether covered his eyes.

"Come on traveler, we can't show weakness! We need to fight back." Dain said, trying to help the blonde who is still upset.

"Counter attack them, I'll fight the hilichurls outside with the other knights. You in the green and you in the white dress, I want you both to go near the gate and defend that area!" Dain commanded.

"Okay hold on! Who told you that you were in charge here?" Jean objected.

"Just do it or else your home will be raided and destroyed." Dain remarked, as he ran away trying to help the knights.

The group all exchanged looks and nodded and went to defend. Venti and Barbara headed to the gate where some knights were fighting mages and hilichurls. Venti boosted his jump with the wind and shot another arrow which sucked all of the hilichurls into one, which the knights can fight them.

Venti shot more arrows and hit the enemies, making them fall onto the ground dying instantly. Then two mitachurls came in running full speed like bullets. Venti wasn't fast enough to evade, getting damaged in the process of slow reaction.

"VENTI!" Barbara screamed, dashed towards the bard that landed on the hard cement. She can see visible bruises on his arms and a bit on his face.

"Hang on, let me heal you." Barbara said, using hydro magic to heal those bruises on him. The knights that were with the duo fought off the mini enemies, but the two Mitachurls were giving the 10 knights a hard time. Each knight getting thrown and slammed like flies.

After Venti was healed, he swiftly pecked Barbara, and flew up and shot more arrows at the two mitachurls. Then out of nowhere Master Diluc jumped from a roof top and slammed his blade at the two mitachurls, which made them both flinch.

Diluc's sword lit on fire and slammed once more to the two brutes, making them both fall onto the ground defeated.

"Venti and Barbara, you two aid Aether! I'll take care of these guys!" Diluc shouted.

Both Venti and Barbara both nodded and ran to aid their friend. Aether was fighting off the mages and mitachurls, he switched to electro and anemo, slaying all of them. His sorrow soon changes to livid. He killed all of the mages as well, then he jumped to talk to Lumine who just stared at her brother with lifeless eyes. Lumine's golden eyes were still gold like her brother, but it seems lifeless as in she doesn't show any emotions toward her brother.

Then climbed up to the roof to come face to face with his sister. Paimon followed and was really concerned for her blonde friend. As Aether got up and faced his sister, she just sighed to see her brother.

"Aether, you need to listen to me. I have a goal to fix this mess, Dain must be slain and I need you to come with me. We will be reunited again." Lumine said.

"Lumine this is insane! Come on, let's just go home. I just wanna go back home." Aether said, his eyes closed as tears leaked out of his eyes.

"But if you go back home then you will.....you will have to say goodbye to Paimon and friends!" Paimon said, feeling somber.

Lumine was about to speak when she was hit by an arrow, which irritated her as she growled to see who shot her.

Aether, Paimon, and Lumine both looked at the direction of the arrow, and it was Venti floating in the air. Barbara climbed up the wall to the roof and pulled out her hand, preparing to heal anyone if anyone got hurt.

"So this is your sister? Pretty pretty, but why must she side with the Abyss?" Venti asked.

"ENOUGH!" Lumine screamed, she jumped and was about to strike all of the people that were here with her.

As the blade was about to hit, Aether countered by colliding his blade with hers. Venti shot an arrow, trying to suck her up with anemo energy, but she quickly dodged the arrow, kicking Aether onto the floor of the roof. Barbara ran to Aether to heal. Lumine ran after the bard, which he jumped into the air and rapidly fired many arrows at her, which she dodge like ninja. When an arrow was about to hit her, she moved with lighting speed to avoid the arrows.

Venti gasped as she got so close to him and was about to hit him. Then a random arrow came and hit Lumine making her fall off the roof onto the hard cement.

"LUMINE!" Aether screamed.

Venti and Barbara looked at the culprit who shot the arrow. A man with deep ocean blue eyes, and brown-orange hair jumped from an adjacent building to theirs.

"I'm Childe, looks like you people here forgot to invite me and my friend to the party!" Childe laughs.

Zhongli landed from the sky next to Childe.

"Sorry we're late. At the moment, Liyue Harbor is now cleaned and secured. Some of us are now here to aid you guys. Ningguang gather her girls: Ganyu and Keging to aid the others at the openings of the gates, which still has some mages and hilichruls to deal with." Zhongli said, drinking from a tea then tossing it off the roof.

"Thank god you're here. But what about her?" Venti points. Which Aether ran down to aid his sister who is now knocked out by landing too hard on the ground.

"LUMINE!" Aether cried. His cry was echoed all around the city as the scream was heard by everyone.
