Another bus left the station shortly after the passengers got on, ready to be taken away
For some, a means to get to work, for others, a way to get home
And for two in particular, a place that would change their lives forever
One, showing off her recently dyed blonde hair, and the other helping her with her luggage
It was a younger Emma, and with her for the first time, was you
The world had not been kind to young Miss Frost, for she had been kidnapped and nearly killed before she even turned 17
However, by playing some tricks of her own and your help, Emma got away with the ransom money all for herself and without a single scratch
That was a story for another time
As you walked down the different stops, you noticed the teenager beside you. With that money, she would definitely start a new life
Perhaps something luxurious like she had grown accustomed to. One would think that the possibility of it brought a smile to her face, but she seemed so...troubled
Especially when she looked at you, but there wasn't much time to talk about it, as you had reached the stop she needed
Although the bus wasn't there yet, you decided to break the ice, one way or another
You: Well, I guess this is where we part ways
You heard the girl sigh as she heard that
Emma: Yeah, about that...
She took off the sunglasses to look at you, deciding to take the first step
Emma: Listen, a hundred and sixty grand isn't a lot of money compared to Daddy's millions, but it'll be enough to start a new life somewhere else
You couldn't help but smile at her. It was a rather unique opportunity, despite it being the result of something so disturbing
But where you saw a new life for Emma, she saw something else, something bigger
And the spark in her eye told you so
Emma: I...I'd like to offer you that chance too
You nearly dropped her luggage when you heard that
You: What? Why? A-Are you sure? I--
She smiled and approached you, gently raising one finger as she stopped you
Emma: The world isn't black and white. You helped me realize that
Then, she raised another
Emma: You went out of your way to save my life, there's no one else I trust more than you right now
And another one
Emma: You have way too much potential to be stuck washing dishes. I know you're not greedy, but you deserve so much more
Lastly, she placed both hands on your shoulders to make you look at the smiling teenager
Emma: So yeah, I'm pretty sure about it
So this was what she was thinking so much about
When Emma reached out to you telepathically when kidnapped, you rushed to save a friend
You weren't expecting something so rewarding and yet, here you were, being offered a mind-blowing bargain by the girl you befriended just a month ago
Soon, you could hear the bus approaching in the distance
The blonde noticed this and returned to look at you
