A blonde woman took a sip from her coffee as she read the newspaper. Something about the new mutant nation of Genosha. The trenchcoat and glasses she wore kept her from revealing any features of herself aside from the hair
The cold was hardly an inconvenience to her, as she was focused on something else entirely, and it wasn't the newspaper
Across the street, a teen stod out from the crowd of people passing by as she was seemingly escaping from something
Her eyes fixed on the ground before she spotted an alleyway to her left. With worried eyes, she glanced over many directions, including the one from which the woman was watching her
In response, she brought her newspaper closer to her and ignored the teen as she finally entered the alleyway, but she wasn't the only one. Two men entered the same alleyway with grins on their faces. This could only mean trouble, and the screams heard shortly after only confirmed this
And so, the woman put the newspaper down and walked across the street with surprising ease, entering the same alleyway
Once she was away from the public eye, the woman changed her appearance to that of a policeman, even had a gun at the ready, should it be needed
However, when she turned around the corner, she came across those same two men, now lying on the floor but the teen was nowhere to be found
She crouched and checked for a pulse. They would be fine in a few hours
Once she confirmed no casualties took place, the police officer changed forms yet again as she sighed
"You gotta be more careful, girl"
___________
Emma and you walked down the halls, talking amongst yourselves in a much more relaxed fashion. It had been one week since you began giving classes, and some changes were already starting to make themselves known
Boy: Good morning, Mr. L/N!
You: Good morning, Tommy
You greeted the kid with stone skin. Emma hummed as a result
Emma: The students sure took a liking to you
You: You think?
Girl: Looking good, Mr. L/N!
You waved at the passing girls, one of them even blew you a kiss. Emma just gave you an unamused look, earning a chuckle from you
You: They're just friendly like that. I'm sure they get happy whenever they see you too
Emma: It's obvious you haven't been to one of my classes, darling. I'm what they know as the "mean teacher"
The last part she reinforced with a hand gesture. You turned to give her a surprised look
