Chapter 2: Noticing You
When reality sinks in I realize it was going to be my turn. I tried to not cry, but as soon as I thought about how I ended up in the main office waiting to go to the principal's office. I started to cry.
Michael noticed and said "Dani, what's wrong!" you can hear the worry in his voice.
In between sobs I said "I'm going to be in so much trouble and I'm never going to get a scholarship, now."
"You're only a junior. Don't worry about that, now. I'm a senior and I'm not worried." said Michael trying to be understanding.
"You don't understand my grades are everything to me. I don't have a boyfriend, I only have a few friends, and my parents only care about my grades when it comes to school."
"I didn't know. I'm sorry, Dani." said Michael trying to comfort me.
He pulled me by the waist, so he can hug me and he placed my head on his chest. I cried into his flannel shirt as he hugged me like his life depended on it and said "Everything is going to be okay." I felt like he actually meant it. He kept hugging me even though I was getting his flannel shirt wet. My mascara got ruined and so did his shirt.
When I stopped crying, I got up from the bench we were sitting on and told him "Oh my gosh, you probably think I'm such a crybaby."
While he looked at his shirt and back up at me wiping the tears off my face he said "No, I think you are the most beautiful and strongest person I've ever met."
I smiled, blushed and said "I'm so sorry for your shirt I ruined it."
"Don't worry about it I have another shirt in my locker." said Michael with a carefree shrug. "Can you come with me to go get my shirt, were going to have to have to wait anyway?"
"Yeah, it's the least I could do for ruining your shirt?" I said while I tried not to smile.
When we were on our way out of the main office, I saw in the corner of my eye Zack and Dylan leaving the principal's office I didn't bother to tell Michael anything. I was having too much fun. We were on our way to Michael's locker. The lockers are outside, when we went outside it was freezing cold.
I was shivering, when Michael says"Dani, your freezing cold!" I can tell his voice changed dramatically from that carefree voice to a concerned one.
I said "Don't worry, I'm fine." While my teeth chatter.
"You're going to get sick, come here!" said Michael in a caring way.
Michael grabbed me by the waist and hugged me trying to keep the warmth between us. I held him around his stomach and laid my head on his chest. When we got to his locker, he opened it and took out another flannel shirt on a hanger.
As he took off the flannel shirt from the hanger he said "Hold my jacket, please."
"Sure." I said not sure what he was going to do, considering it was freezing cold outside.
He took off his jacket and gave it to me and then took off his shirt and put on the clean shirt and put his jacket on quickly. I noticed that Michael has rock hard abs and huge muscles in his arms, which the shirt and jacket hid very well. When he lifted up his shirt his pants dropped down a little because they were too loose, showing the waistband of his boxers. I was left breathless.
"We should get back to the main office, Zack and Dylan are probably already done." said Michael.
I just kept staring.
Michael saw me staring and said with a smirk on his face "Take a picture it'll last longer."
"Uh...Um.. I-I...Um." I stuttered.
