Chapter 8: Secrets and Lies

I looked at him with a confused expression and said “What?”

“I said welcome to my fucked up life.”

“I know what you said. I meant what just happened and why is this your fucked up life?”

“Let’s finish picking this up and I’ll tell you later.”

I nodded and went back to picking up the mess along the brothers. I tried not to think about it, but questions kept popping up in my head like; What just happened? Did this have to do with Julie?; Why did his life have to be this way? or Why did he trust me enough to explain?. We finished an hour later. The entire time these questions kept ringing in my head. I couldn’t take it anymore. I had a massive headache from overthinking everything. I have a tendency of doing that a lot, but I would never admit that to anyone.

It was 4 in the morning by the time we fixed everything. Jacob, Mason, Chris, and Andrew were already sleeping by the time we finished. They were all sprawled on the floor. Jason was facing up with one arm behind his head and the other at his side, Mason was facing up with his head on Jason’s stomach, Andrew had his head against Mason’s shoulder, and Chris was on his side facing Jason with one arm outstretched on Jason’s chest. It was honestly the cutest thing ever. I got two blankets. I covered Mason and Andrew with one and covered Jason and Chris with the other. I gave each a kiss on their forehead and left to go to the kitchen where Anthony, Michael, and Tyler were.

When I walked in Anthony and Michael had warm smiles on their faces and Tyler just sat there shock written all over his face. I returned there warm smiles and asked “Why are you looking at me like that?”

Mikey walked over to me and kissed my cheek and said “Thank you.”

I gave him a confused look and said “For what?”

Anthony chimed in and said “We saw what you did to Jacob, Mason, and Andrew.”

I smiled sheepishly and said “I don’t mind.”

Michael and Anthony smiled at me, again. Tyler whispered to himself “Just like Rosemary.”

He thought no one heard him, but everyone actually did. I turned to him with a confused look. I haven’t heard her name in years. I gave him a pointed look and said “Who’s Rosemary?”

He looked shocked as if he didn’t mean to say that out loud. He gave me an unreadable expression and said “Nobody.”

I can’t take the secrets, anymore. They were driving me crazy. I have so many questions and all of them are unanswered. I finally snapped. I took small steps to him and said “I’m done with the lies and secrets. Tell me who Rosemary is right now.”

Tyler looked over at Michael and gave him a pleading look. I looked over at Michael and crossed my arms. I was fed up with the secrets and lies. Anthony sighed and said “Just tell her.”
