Chapter 9: Goodbye
When I was done with my freak out session, I got dressed with some acid washed short shorts, a Fall Out Boy tank top, and my white converse. I brushed my hair and let it fall loose on my back. I only put on some lipstick. By the time I was finished it was 7:30. I had half an hour to do whatever. I went downstairs and sat down on the couch. I started watching TV.
A couple minutes later, my dad walked by the living room, but when he saw me he walked toward the couch and sat down next to me.
We sat there in silence until my dad spoke up and said “Where are you going?”
“I’m going somewhere with Mikey.” I wasn’t going to lie to him. He was going to find out eventually.
My dad tensed and said “You’re spending a lot of time with him.”
“Yeah.”
We stayed in silence until my dad said “You slept over at his house, too.”
“Yeah.”
My dad clenched his fists and said “You guys slept in the same bed.”
If I told him I did, he was going to be really mad at Mikey and I. Well, what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him. “No…….”
“Liar.”
“We didn’t sleep in the same bed.”
“Oh, really.” My dad looked at me and then my dad screamed “Chris get down here!”
That can’t me good. My brother can lie believably, but if you ask him and he lies to you. You know he’s lying because his eyes don’t look at you. They look at your nose or forehead. Chris came running down the stairs and said “Yeah, dad.”
“Did Daniela and Michael sleep in the same bed?”
“No.” He’s lying. He was looking at my dad’s forehead. I’m dead.
My dad turned around and said “I knew it.”
I was pissed off. So what if I did! We didn’t do anything! I sighed and said “Fine. We did, but nothing happened.”
My dad was red like a fire truck. He was about to say something, but my mom came in and said “Rick! You better not be yelling at the kids!”
My dad turned around just as my mom walked in and he said “I had a good reason to be yelling.”
My mom rolled her eyes and in a mocking tone said “Really! What happened this time?”
My dad looked between Chris and I and then back at my mom and said “She slept with Michael and then lied to me about it and made Chris lie about it, too!”
