I've just decided that Kim will be a bit of a Greek Myth nerd, so be warned.

"And this will be our room, there are two beds." Taura then points to the one on the left side of the room. "You can have that bed." Chip, who was on my shoulder, immediately flies to the bed and begins making a nest in the bedding.

Since I am not hungry and have nothing to change into, I crawl into bed. "I don't know about you, but I'm pretty tired. Night." I pull the woven bed sheet over my body and close my eyes.

"Goodnight." I hear my new roommate say in a soft voice that doesn't match her from what I've seen tough personality.

As the sound of her retreating feet echoes through the small house, a fuzziness overtakes my mind as I slip into the land of Hypnos.

It feels as though I am floating in water, but I'm not wet. There's a steady beeping and the muffled sound of voices. Opening my eyes, I am met with a white ceiling with bright lights momentarily blinding me.

As I close my eyes, sobbing reaches my ears. Opening my eyes again, I turn my head. And sitting in a chair beside my bed is Sophie as she releases another heart ranching sob.

Her blond hair in a messy ponytail that was falling apart, many strands hanging over her face. Her deep brown eyes now seem murky with dark bags. She is also wearing the jacket I had worn the day I had gotten hit. It was dirty and looked to have some dried blood on it, yet she's still wearing it.

Through her sobbing I can hear her repeating, "I'm sorry Kim." As if it were her fault that I had jumped in front of that truck.

"Hey, it wasn't your fault." As I raise my hand to comfort her, I stop.

My hand is translucent.

Panicked, I hold my hands and arms in front of my face, only to see that they too are translucent. Turning to look at the bed I'm sat on, I see me. My body laying there in a hospital gowned, hooked up to multiple machines. 'Am I dead? Where is dad? What is happening?!' My thoughts are interrupted by the door opening.

Standing in the doorway is a woman and the kid, Owen. Now I can finally get a better look at him, he has dark blue eyes and black hair. The woman next to him, who I assume is his mother has forest green eyes and black hair pulled into a tight bun. Both of them are wearing formal clothes.

Sophie turns to them and musters a teary smile for the child. Owens mother hands him a piece of paper. Smiling he skips over to my friend and give her the paper. "I made this for her!" He says pointing to me.

"May I look at it?" With a nod for confirmation, Sophie opens it.

On the paper is a crayon drawing of two stick figures, one short, presuming a child. The other on that I think is me has long hair and a small bird on its shoulder. Beside them is a wrecked truck. And finally, written at the top is 'MY HERO' in sloppy writing. "Awe."

Just as I am about to ruffle Owen's hair, my surroundings change. The first thing I notice is the sound of waves hit something and a cold breeze. I am now standing on the deck off a metal ship in the ocean surrounded by icebergs. Along with me, there are several men in red and black armor walking around the deck.

I look at my hands to see that I am still translucent and that I am now floating an inch above the ground. With much difficulty, I float to an elderly man with gray hair and beard playing a game that looks like some kind of chess with one of the armored men. I float behind the armored man and look over his shoulder at the board.

After watching for a few minutes, I feel eyes on me. Look up, my eyes meet the warm brown ones of the old man. "Umm, hi?" I wave shyly. 'How the hell can he see me?!'

He nods to me with a soft smile only conforming that he can see me. Still slightly unsure, I float to the side. His eyes following me.

Just as I am about to question him about how he can see me; darkness starts to cloud my vision.

Waking up with a jolt, I turn to the window next to my bed. Taking deep breathes, trying to calm myself. I look out the window and watch the wind blow the trees.

'Wha-what was that?' Hugging myself, I feel tears come to my eyes. 'Why wasn't Dad there. Does he not care about me? Am I dying? Will I ever be able to see Sophie again? Wil-'

I am broken from my thoughts by a hand on my shoulder. Opening my eyes that I didn't even realize I had closed, my teary eyes are met with steel gray eyes with a comforting warmth in them.

They sit beside me on the bed and start to rub my back to calm me down. "Shhhh. It's okay, you're okay."

'I'm okay, everything is fine.'
