Fluke was watching his best friend putting on make-up. It was Saturday night and he was about to leave their cosy apartment to meet other of their friends and dance until the sun came out again and he hated it.Earth was always the extrovert type, getting along easily with people and becoming their "bff" in a short period of time. It was his charm, no one in their right minds could possibly look at him and not fall for him. He was funny, caring, and gentle. A whole package.
In turn, Fluke has always been the shy friend, the one who rather spent his weekend at home watching Netflix or playing a new game he was interested in.
How did two different people like these become friends? Exactly because of Earth's boldness. He laid his eyes on Fluke and decided to adopt him.
However, nobody was aware that Fluke felt for Earth much more than a simple friendship. To his horror, people around their intimate circle started to give them nicknames, but not the kind you use to ship people together like a couple. They called them "The Twins" and so Fluke flew directly to the "Twinzone" which was way much worse than the "Friendzone" from where some lucky people could actually escape.
The cherry on top about all of this? In the last few months Earth started to date anyone who dared to move within his eyesight. Which was A LOT. This whole situation left Fluke not only bad for himself, but especially for his friend. Earth deserved to be loved completely, not only for one night or casually. It hurt him deeply to see the man a sobbing mess every time his dates dumped him with little to no reason at all.
This evening, however, something seemed to have woken up inside Fluke and he decided to speak for it.
"Don't go out tonight… please.", Fluke said hesitantly, feeling his heart running inside his chest like a thousand wolves were chasing a cute bunny. The bunny in question was standing in front of him wearing a cropped hoodie and leather shorts. His high knee boots were perfectly fitting around his slender legs.
"Why?", Earth furrowed his brows.
"Because it will be my villain origin story", Fluke spoke in a tone midway between a joke and a serious love confession, making Earth doubt of it.
"What are you saying, Fluke?"
"I'm saying that all this time I've been waiting to be the one who kisses you and makes you feel good. I love you, Earth and wanna show you this each second of my day… of our days together. You don't need to leave this condo to find someone who can complete you because you're already perfect and I would spend each second of my life worshiping you.", Fluke finished his speech panting hard.
It was Earth's turn to swallow a lump inside his throat. He sighed and then shortened the distance between the two. He was starring directly into Fluke's eyes until the latter averted his gaze, blushing hard. He was still a shy person, afterall.
"Hey, Flukie… please look at me…", he pleaded softly, making the other's skin react by itself. Fluke then summoned a few last strands of courage and asked looking into Earth's eyes:
"Please tell me you want to kiss me as much as I want to kiss you."
His bottom lip was trembling and Earth thought it was adorable. Only Fluke Natouch could be as oblivious to the point he couldn't notice how much Earth loved him. Not as friends, surely not as twins, but as a soul that can love another through time and space. He always felt like they were soulmates, but was afraid to take a step and watch Fluke reject him. All of this was a dream coming true.
"I dare to say that I want it even more than you, pretty boy!", Earth said and then pressed Fluke's body against the door and smashed his own lips on his.
Earth didn't leave the apartment that night or in any other after that. Unless he was accompanied by his boyfriend Fluke, of course!
