12. Soulmate on probation (DeanPharm)

DeanPharm returned to walking around the Campus hand in hand and exuding that pink energy that people in love usually display. No one knew exactly what had happened to them, a privilege guaranteed only to their family members and close friends. While Win had listened complacently as if the story just connected the dots he had already noticed by himself, Manaow and Team's case was a little different.

After telling his friends about KornIn and his connection to them, Pharm almost regretted it. The two drowned him in questions about the red thread, his past life and a thousand other questions. But it was that same conversation that led them to this whole story.

"But how are you sure you're soulmates?" Manaow asked after checking her makeup in the mirror she carried in her bag.

"I just know, Manaow! We can feel this connection clearly, but the most important thing is that we know our love is bigger than that and we're together because we truly love each other!", Pharm said with a wide smile on his face as he remembered his beloved P'Dean.

"Hmm… This is all very interesting, but I still think you should test him, Pharm.", Team said taking a sip of juice.

"What do you mean by that, Team?"

"You know those internet tests that show which kpop idol you are? Something like that, but to find out if P'Dean really is your soulmate!"

"That doesn't even make sense, Ai Team! Who defines your personality or love life based on those things!"

"Of course it does, Manaow! Think about it: if P'Dean passes on a silly test like that, of course he would pass in something more complex! After all, what harm can you do checking something like that?", Team said with a shrug.

Pharm didn't need that, he no longer had any doubts about how he felt about P'Dean and no fears either about how the senior felt about him. But Team's words made him curious and it didn't hurt to know more about it, right?

"What do you mean, Team?", the round-faced boy with big brown eyes asked.

"You simulate a situation or several of them and analyze how P'Dean behaves. Even when you're irrational or silly, you know? If he passes on the probation it means he's your soulmate!", Team explained.

"Uh, and we could give him points! That way it would be easier to give a score at the end!", Manaow was already into the idea that she had rejected just seconds before.

"That would be really interesting, although I already know what the result will be…", Pharm said with a shy smile.

So, they had defined some tests that Dean must go through. They also assigned a score for each one according to the level of difficulty and the type of response they expected from the older male. Now it was necessary to put it into practice.

Test 01: The taste of love (Total = 100 points)

It was the morning before the last day of exams of the semester, which usually meant that Dean and Pharm wouldn't eat breakfast together, as they used their last moments to study some more. However, on behalf of the ongoing project, Team and Manaow convinced Pharm that it would be important to start the first test that very day. After all, if P'Dean refused something as simple as this, it would be in itself a reason to deduct some points from him.

However, the three freshmen weren't really surprised when Dean accepted the invitation. They had already studied enough, and last-minute revisions tend to make students more tense than they actually help to add some knowledge. In the senior's mind it was just a great reason to see his boyfriend and de-stress a little before the exam. So Dean only saw the benefits of accepting such an invitation!
