"Please, remember, if you get uncomfortable at any given moment, just send me a message - No, wait! Just nod at me and we can go home, ok?", Typhoon said sounding very serious as they were still inside the car in front of his mom's house.

They were attending the lady's famous Christmas dinner party and it was possible to see other family members parking their cars on the same street and entering the house they were about to go to. If Typhoon could calm himself down at least a bit. It wasn't their first time meeting his family as a couple, but it still made him feel butterflies in his stomach and above all things, he didn't want to make Pierce feel pressured to face something he was probably doing only because of him.

"I'm not gonna ask to leave, Phoon.", Pierce reassured his boyfriend for the umpteenth time since they left their home to go to the party.

"I just want to make sure you won't feel left out, P'Pierce! It's the first time you'll hang around with so many relatives of mine at once and this can be a bit... overwhelming, to say the least.", Typhoon reached for Pierce's hand, holding it tight "I want you to know that you are my priority, okay?", he said looking into the other's eyes.

Pierce smiled softly at his lover and leaned to peck his plump lips. He really was addicted to them. "And you are my priority too, silly! I would never ask you to leave your family like this! Don't worry about me, okay? I want to do this! I mean it!", Pierce said while brushing his thumb over Typhoon's hand drawing random patterns on the smooth skin. Something in his voice, his touch or in his eyes made Phoon finally get confident enough and they left the car.

Typhoon interlocked fingers with Pierce when they reached the front door and he rang the bell waiting for someone to open it. They didn't have to wait too much and soon after someone talking loudly greeted them.

"My baby! You're finally here!", Typhoon's mom said while hugging him so tight he unconsciously let go of Pierce's hand.

"Hi, mooom~! I've missed you too!", the boy replied affectionately, circling his arms around her petite body. Standing from where Pierce was, he could see little pearls of tears threatening falling from Typhoon's eyes and the scene made the taller male's heart ache a bit. Typhoon loved his family so much, they should make an effort to visit them more frequently. And Pierce made a promise to himself to make that come true.

When they both were satisfied with it, Phoon's mom parted from the hug and gave Pierce a good look from head to toes. "You're as handsome as the last time I've seen you both on Easter, huh? Maybe hotter!", she teased as Typhoon chastised her "Mom! You're gonna make him embarrassed!". Pierce blushed hard, but he knew it was the lady's way to show he was welcomed to their family. "Hi, mom! I've missed you too!", he leaned to hug the woman as she engulfed him in a tight hug as well.

"Okay, okay! Enough with the hugs, my loves! Let's go inside now! Everyone was waiting for you, guys!", she said, leading them to the living room.

The whole family was there, a classic Christmas reunion including even the uncles Typhoon didn't know he had and cousins he hadn't seen since they were little kids. By the way, there were a lot of kids running around the adults, all of them entangled in Christmas' lights and wearing cute Santa hats. Someone was playing the piano at the corner of the living room and a little crowd cheered the pianist singing along to the songs. Every corner of the house had groups of 3 or 4 people chatting animatedly and laughing. It was a description of chaos, but it felt really warm at the same time.

Pierce's house wasn't not even close to this during holidays. Even if he was one of the 3 children of his parents, they were all too composed, too cold, too full of themselves to share moments like this. When his mom was capable of convincing everyone to have dinner together it was more likely that things would end as soon as the food was cleaned from their plates because they couldn't stand being around each other for too long. His parents were always making too many questions, his siblings always trying to prove to be better than a musician as him. "Music producer, I'm a music producer!", he tried to correct them a few times before simply giving up on that too. Gladly, now that he had come out to his parents and officially introduced Typhoon as his life partner, things were starting to change. Slowly. Still it wasn't nothing compared to Typhoon's family and this was the exact reason it all looked so exciting for Pierce.
