Y/n arrived at the building and made her way up to Cami's apartment. The door across the hall from Cami's was wide open. Y/n stepped into the room, her eyes meeting Klaus'.

"Alright love." Klaus said as he walked over to her handing her the keys for the apartment.

"Hi." She said as she went to dump her bags on the kitchen island. "Where's the bedroom?" She asked. He motioned over to the left.

She reentered the living area seconds later.

"Everything okay?" Cami asked.

"Yeh, yeh I'm fine." There was an awkward pause as she knew both of them were seeing straight through her lie. "I ran into Elijah as I was leaving." She sighed.

"Oh god." Cami replied. "That must have been awkward."

"Yeh, it was and now I'd very much like to down a drink, watch tv and cry my eyes out." Y/n started to get tearful. Klaus had already left as soon as he heard her say Elijah.

Cami left shortly after telling Y/n that she'd be there if she needed anything. She nodded goodbye and left Y/n alone in front of her tv with a drink.

She needed to do something productive. Her clothes. The clothes that had been at Elijah's still smelled of him. No she wasn't going to bring herself to go and smell them. He wasn't part of her life anymore.

She grabbed the clothes from her room and dumped them all in the washer. Within an hour, it was done and her clothes were Elijah free.

After a few hours, it was about 6pm. She had wandered around her new apartment, familiarising herself with it. As she entered the kitchen, motion sensor lights clicked on underneath the white glossy cabinets. She headed to her fridge to see that it was already stocked with food and had a small tray hidden at the back that was filled with her favourite drinks. She grabbed the whole tray and took it to her room. There, at the end of her bed was another tv. She had just planned the rest of her night : drinks and tv.

A few weeks had passed and Y/n hadn't been in the quarter at all. Not even to see Rebekah. She avoided it as much as she could. Cami had come over almost every night after she'd finished working and they'd talked and just generally been in each other's company. Klaus had been over during the days bringing her some bits of food from her stash that was still at the compound. They'd began to spend a lot of time together. Like A LOT.

She knew she was starting to move on, moving past Elijah. She still had feelings for him and still loved him, but the thought of him still angered her a little. She did find herself wondering how he was, then quickly reminding herself that he wasn't her concern anymore.

Y/n might have been moving on but Elijah was a mess. Of course Klaus hadn't mentioned him to her as he didn't want her to think about it. About what he did.

Elijah had barely left the compound all week except to go on the occasional run. He shut himself down, barely talking to anyone even Klaus and Rebekah. Nothing they did was acknowledged by him. He had turned himself into a totally different person.

"Has he said any words to you today?" Klaus asked as he walked himself down the steps into the courtyard where Rebekah was sitting.

"I got a grunt when I asked him if he wanted a blood bag this morning. Has Freya gotten any closer to finding out if he was spelled?" She replied.

"I don't know." Klaus spoke. "Well I'm heading over to Rousseau's. Text me if he actually decides to move... or do.... anything."

Elijah heard him say this as he stood at the top of the stairs behind one of the pillars. He came bouncing downstairs in his running gear, threw on his headphones and ran straight past Rebekah without saying a word to her.

Y/n wandered to the fridge looking for anything she could use to make lunch. Nothing. It was totally empty. She huffed and hustled herself back to her room to change before heading out to the grocery store.

She clambered into her car, dumping her handbag on the seat next to her. She started it and began to drive.

As she got more into the centre of town, the number of idiot drivers increased.

She came to a crossroad on the outskirts of the quarter when a car pulled out in front of her and she slammed into the side of it. The impact threw her body forward trapping her wrist between her body and the steering wheel. Her seatbelt however luckily stopped her from going through the windshield. She smacked her head against the steering wheel causing it to bleed.

She sighed "Ow." She said as she sat back and grabbed her head. The other driver was beside her in seconds.

"Oh my god Y/n I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" The blurry dark haired stranger said. Y/n's eyes struggled to adjust to see clearly who it was.

"Um yeah, I'm just bleeding a little." She held out her hand which was now almost fully covered in blood. "Or I'm actually bleeding a lot." She sighed seeing her hand and trying to hide her feeling of panic.

"Have you got your cellphone there?" The stranger asked. She nodded handing it to him. He opened up her emergency contacts and tapped the first one.

"Hello? Y/n?" The voice came down the other end of the line.

"Hi no it's not Y/n, it's Damon Salvatore." The stranger said.

"Well hello Damon, why do you have Y/n's phone?" The voice asked.

"So we've just had a bit of an accident. Y/n's car and mine collided, she seems alright just a bit of bleeding on her head but apart from that-" Damon turned around to see Y/n unconscious, her head tilted back and blood running down her cheek.

"Oh god." Damon panicked, grabbing a load of napkins Y/n had gotten with her coffee and held it against her head.

"Hello? Hello? Damon are you there?" The voice kept saying faintly.

He grabbed the phone again "She's unconscious, she must have hit her head really hard. Look we're about 2 streets away from Rousseau's. You're on her phone as her emergency contact, can you come and help? I'm about to call an ambulance she's getting worse."

"I'll be there in 2 minutes." The call ended and Damon tried to talk to Y/n.

"Y/n? Y/n?" Damon tried to shake her awake but she didn't move. More blood kept pouring from her head. He couldn't feed her his blood, there was too many people watching.

"Dammit Y/n." He grunted redialling 911 on his phone.
