"Honestly Cami I don't know what to do." Y/n spoke as she was raking through the fridge. Cami was sitting at the island with a coffee in her hand, trying to help Y/n make the dreaded decision.
"I can't help you make this choice babe. It's got to be all you." She finally spoke. Y/n sighed closing the fridge door.
"Can't I just have them both?" She said putting her head in her hands. Cami smiled rolling her eyes at her.
"You could but that would get complicated." She laughed.
"How could it get more complicated?" Y/n asked. "Urgh I need to talk to Elijah. And Rebekah. She's always helpful in the love life dramas."
"Moving on from love lives cause mine is basically non-existent, have you figured what dress you're going to wear tonight?" Cami asked.
"No, I don't have anything in my closet that's really my style anymore."
"Then it's shopping time. We have..." Cami looked at her watch. "4 hours and 27 minutes until we have to be at the ball so let's go." She smiled.

Y/n stepped out the changing room in a pinky-nude bodycon maxi dress that had a split up to the top third of her thigh. The neckline plunged to reveal her cleavage, enough so it was sexy but not too much to where she was basically flashing herself. This dress hugged her curves in ways she knew Klaus and Elijah would melt over. Cami's eyes set on it and her jaw dropped.
"Oh my god. You look so amazing." She said. Y/n looked herself in the mirror.
"You think? I don't feel amazing. I feel like I need red and satin. I always feel hot in that." She said. Cami sprung to her feet and over to the shop assistant. The lady nodded and headed up some stairs. She came down moments later with a dress zipped up in a bag. She hung it in the changing room and gestured Y/n back inside.
She unzipped the bag to reveal a beautiful full length red satin gown. The top, just like that other dress was plunging but not as much. The slit went even higher in this dress, up to the near top of her thigh.
"Wow." She said looking at it. It was a truly magnificent dress. She slipped out of the dress she was currently wearing and into the red one. In one quick movement she zipped it up her side. She slid on the slim gold strappy stilettos that she bought from a previous store and presented herself to Cami. Not only did Cami's jaw drop but she choked a bit on her complementary champagne.
"Oh. My. God." She spoke after she coughed and began to breathe again.
"Okay, now I feel hot." Y/n said smiling as she looked at herself in the mirror. She turned to the shop assistant and said "I'll take it."
After a few more moments of admiring herself in the mirror, Y/n turned to Cami.
"Okay we got to find a dress for you now."
"What? No no I already got one picked out. You know the backless gold one." Cami said.
"Well if we're not dress shopping for you as well then we're going to get our hair and nails done. Come on, my treat." Y/n said pulling Cami up from her chair.
"Fine." Cami reluctantly spoke.

Before the two of them knew it, it was time to head to the ball. Y/n stared at herself in the mirror once more before grabbing her clutch and heading out of her room. Standing with her back to her in the kitchen was Cami all dressed up too. She turned when she heard Y/n's heels on the ground.
"Those guys aren't going to know what hit them." She said, the smile fading from her lips as she noticed the uncomfortable look on Y/n's face. "What's wrong?"
"It's just... the last time I was at one of these things, I found out Elijah cheated on me and my life literally fell apart."
"Nothing bad is going to happen tonight." Cami reassured her.
"But it will Cami, I need to talk to Elijah about this whole situation and I need advice from Rebekah and I can tell someone or something is going to start an argument."
"I mean even if something bad happens, it's not like you can die. Cause you know, you're already dead." Cami joked trying to lighten the mood.
"Gee thank you for that reminder." Y/n said sarcastically following it with a light laugh. She grabbed her flask from the fridge along with a blood bag and filled it up. Cami just looked at her.
"What? I'm going to need a pick-me-up at some point." She said focussing on the bag.
"Then drown your sorrows in champagne or bourbon like a normal vampire." Y/n smirked and put the last of the blood bag back in the fridge. The flask and her keys were thrown into her bag and the girls left for the ball.
They arrived about 15 minutes later and walked in to find the courtyard filled with lively music and so many happy couples on the dance floor. The feelings came rushing back to Y/n.
"I don't like this Cami." She said in Cami's ear.
"Give it a chance. This one will be different I promise." She smiled back at her. "What do you want to drink I'll go get us one.
"Um pornstar martini." Y/n said. Cami looked at her.
"Wait you're having an actual drink?" She questioned.
"Well I like alcohol now that I can't get drunk after 2 glasses of wine." She joked. Cami smiled and walked over to the bar.
Elijah was on the staircase talking to Marcel when he spotted her standing by herself. Her leg was poking from the slit in her dress making him unable to keep his eyes off of her. He was no longer listening to a single thing Marcel was saying and was solely focused on her.
"Hello? Elijah? I'm talking to you man." Marcel spoke. "What are you even looking at?" He said turning round to look in Y/n's direction. "Wow."
"I know. Isn't she just...." He started.
"Beautiful." Marcel finished.
"Yes... wait what?" Elijah said to Marcel.
Marcel ran down the stairs and headed over to Y/n's general direction. It wasn't until he stopped at Rebekah that Elijah realised he wasn't talking about Y/n. He was talking about his wife. Elijah continued down the stairs and approached Y/n grabbing two flutes of champagne on the way.
"You look stunning tonight darling." He complimented her.
"Why thank you." She blushed. "You look incredibly handsome yourself."
He smiled handing her a glass.
"Oooo thank you." She sipped it. "So what is this ball for exactly?" She asked.
"Kol and Davina have returned and I guess it's a welcome back party." Elijah spoke.
"Ah." Y/n said taking another sip from the glass. "Has Klaus been around? I'm assuming he told you about the conversation we had earlier."
"He may have mentioned it. He disappeared after we spoke and I haven't seen him since."
"I'm sorry Elijah. I hate being the one putting a rift between you two."
"No. You have nothing to be sorry for." He took the glass from her hand and placed on a table beside them. He took her hand in his and led her upstairs to the library. Rebekah caught onto the two of them walking upstairs.
"Darling why don't you go get us some drinks? I'm going to pop to the ladies room." She smiled kissing Marcel as he walked away. After he was out of sight she followed Elijah and Y/n upstairs.
