Sydney looked just as beautiful as she did in life. The same rosy cheeks, the same smile, the same kind look in her eyes. The only thing different was her now white hair, something all angels have, but hers was even more extraordinary. Gabriel was frozen in shock. Once he was able to grasp the reality in front of him he hugged her. He didn't want to let go of her. All of his troubles dissapered for those few moments. All he cared about in that moment was sydney. She was ok. She was there. He didnt have to keep looking. In his shock he didnt notice the bruises at first. As soon as he did his smile faded. Sydney quickly hid them but he couldnt unsee it. He gently grabbed her hand and had her look at him

"You're still with him, aren't you?" He asked. She looked down and nodded.

"Sydney say something" he said. Sydney stayed quiet but shook her head. He tried to stop the tears but it was too late. She placed her hand on his cheek and wiped them away with her thumb. He was still holding on to her other hand. He could feel how fragile she felt. As if one wrong move would shatter her. He gently pulled her into another hug. This time he didnt let go, but picked her up and carried her. He walked her over to a nearby restaurant and payed for both of their meals. Sydney ate slowly and still didnt say a word. As gabriel was trying to think of ways to get her to talk he accidentally knocked over his cup. He tried to stand to grab some napkins and tripped over his chair pulling the tabel cloth off. All of the food and drinks fell on him. As he sat up he heard Sydney laughing. She helped him up.

"Are you alright?" She aksed as she still laughed. Releived to hear her voice he smiled

"I am. I'm ok." He said. Sydney laughed some more and helped him clean up the mess. Gabriel was internally embarrased. He really just did that in front of the woman he loves? It doesnt matter, she's happy so he was happy. He couldnt wait to go home and tell his brother the good news.
