one too many

Sydney had never been happier, she was finally with the man she loved. She had everything she ever wanted, but she was scared. She was scared it was all a dream. She was still terrified Jackson would return and rip her away from gabriel. She was having constant nightmares and panic attacks. One day, a mere two weeks after she and gabriel got together, she took every pill she could find. As she swallowed the last one Gabriel walked in.

"Sydney? Sydney how many were in there?" He asked. Sydney remained silent. He pucked her up and rushed her to the bathroom. He made her get sick just in time. As soon as he knew she was ok he hugged her. She immediately started sobbing. Gabriel was crying too but he stayed as silent as he could. He held her as she cried.

"You're safe Sydney. I promise." He said

"It wouldnt have killed me anyway. I'm already dead" she said as she wiped her face

"Thats not the point. The point is you still attempted... do you wanna talk about why?" He asked

"I'm scared of jackson... my child is gone... and my son os always busy" she said. Gabriel started to braid her hair

"I'm so sorry love. I know its hard. I love you" he said. Sydney hugged him and sniffed

"I love you too."  She said. Gabriel held her u til she fell asleep, then put her in his bed. Once he was sure she was still asleep he went outside and called Michael.

"Hey Mikey" he said

"Hey. You sound upset whats wrong?" Michael asked

"Sydney... she tried to overdo-" he was cut off my Michael appearing in front of him

"She did what? Is she ok?" He asked. Gabriel nodded and took him upstairs to check on her. She seemed to be having a nightmare. Gabriel gently picked her up and held her as he hummed the tune to her favorite song.

"The poor girl. She's been through so much" Michael said. Gabriel nodded and held his love close. He knew what she did couldnt kill an angel, but she still tried. The love of his life was so terrified she'd rather take her own life than suffer another day with jackson. That night he silently vowed to protect her with his life. He wasnt going to let anything bad happen to her even if it meant giving up his life, and he would be damned if he went back on that promise.
