~Islas' POV~
For the past two weeks Silas has been at the helm forcing me to handle anything that has to do with the men, it's not a bad thing, the men just don't respect me. I'm a woman, and I was made first mate after only being on the ship a few days, they don't really listen to me, nor do they like me. I understand where they're coming from, I mean hell being a Pirate means not having to take to many orders. I ran from my old life because I was forced to take orders from people that didn't care how those orders affected me, the difference with the orders I give is the fact that I actually care about these men. The last thing that I want is to see any of them get hurt, hence why it bothers me when they don't listen to the orders I give. I stood at the port side railing looking out at the sea before I heard fighting behind me, I shook my head turning to see Red about to swing at Sweet.
"Hey, what did I just say Red?"
He looked at me shaking his head.
"Ya know, I don't remember, why don't ya remind me with those pretty lips of yours?"
"I have a better idea, why don't I remind you with my boot going up your ass? Leave the kid alone, final warning, otherwise I might just throw you overboard."
He scoffed.
"I don't think ya have it in ya."
I smirked walking over taking his long greasy reddish orange hair in my hand dragging him to port side throwing him over. The men scrambled to get him a rope, and I backed away letting them get him back on deck, he sat up shaking his head.
"Crazy bitch, ya could've killed me."
"Yeah, and I should've, now watch how you talk to me, heed my orders and get back to work before I kick your ass."
He stood up getting back to work and I shook my head as Sweet came over to me with a small shy smile on his face.
"Thanks ma'am, but you really didn't have to do that for me."
"I know, just be careful Sweet, I won't always be here to save you."
He nodded his head going back to work, and I walked up to the helm standing next to Silas who gave me a worried look.
"What?"
"Are you okay?"
I shrugged.
"Yeah, just tired of them not listening to me."
"I don't think that's it, you've been like this ever since your Father showed up."
I scoffed, shaking my head.
"This has nothing to do with him, and even if it did, it's no concern of yours, you do your job, and I'll do mine."
I walked away leaving him to his thoughts, in a way he's right, but my actions have nothing to do with my Father. It has everything to do with him, I love him, and he doesn't even notice me, I've watched him throw men overboard many times for being insubordinate. Granted he never let them back up, but I'm not him, he can't see that I love him, and maybe that's a good thing. However he has no right to say anything about my Father, when the only person this involves is him. I was pulled from my thoughts by the men getting excited, I turned to see us heading for a cave, I went up to the helm looking at Silas like he's crazy. He smirked at me and I sighed knowing that he knows where we're going and that it's going to be alright. I sighed, shaking my head as we sailed into the cave, the men drew back the sails, and I watched the mass miss the ceiling. I looked at everything around us and smiled the cave was full of parts of ships turning it into its own little pirate paradise.
