The curse, after knocking you into a wall, backs away; its figure fading from view through your blurry eyes. You take a moment to collect yourself, even your breathing, and blink until you're able to fight.

You kneel up onto one of your legs, attempting to stabilize yourself. You look across the room and see the curse get down on all fours again. Just like last time, it charges at you once again with full force. However, this time you're able to duck and roll to avoid it.

A loud crash comes from the curse who rammed head-first into the wall you had just been. You take the moment to stand up and back away from it. Your eyes then catch onto Gojo and find him with the same expressionless look as before. As for Nanami, he seems to be scolding Gojo over something, but Gojo's able to shoo him away with just a few words.

Just as Nanami's eyes catch onto yours, you see the serious look of worry in his eyes. At that moment, you know that this situation isn't going to end well for you.

I've got to do something before I get crushed by this thing.

You look back to the curse, watching it turn towards you and bend into its running position. It then starts barreling towards you. A bit more prepared for it this time, you dodge the attack just barely getting out of the way in time.

Now, whatever cursed energy is inside of you, starts to form. You look down at your hand and try to focus it all on your palm. You then turn around and dash towards the curse. Trying not to think too hard about your poorly thought-out plan once again, you grab the curse by its face and force it away from you, slamming it against a stone pillar.

"Nice one Y/N!" Gojo beams just as he begins to cheer you on.

You look over at the two of them, seeing Nanami still looking dead serious. You follow his eyes to where they're looking and see the curse hop right back onto its feet.

Seriously?! you mutter to yourself.

The curse runs too fast for you to stop it and this time rams its head straight into your gut. You hear your own piercing scream ring out in pain as you land on the floor.

Through blurry eyes, you see the curse stand up and begin walking towards you. You watch as it looks down on you as though it's about to devour its prey. You curl your legs to your chest, preparing for the curse to finish you off. There's nowhere you could escape to, even if you were able to move like normal.

This is how I'm going to die... I guess they really weren't going to help me.

"Y/N," you hear the last voice you expected to hear in an incredibly calm manner. "Don't move... Domain Expansion: Infinite Void."

Suddenly, you find yourself surrounded by bright lights. You try turning your head to look for the man who's placed you in this situation but are unable to move. You then notice the curse in front of you who is also unable to take a step closer to you.

"Ah, there you are," Gojo says as he leisurely walks to your side.

You notice that instead of his typical blindfolded and spiked hair appearance, his hair is down. And although you're still seeing everything blurred, his bright blue eyes stand out from everything else, almost piercing right into you.

"Ya know," he says as he bends down to your level. "You didn't do too poorly."

He then grips your waist, his hands pushing into your sides as he picks you up and slings you over his shoulder with ease. No matter how awkward you felt or how much you wanted to squirm out of his grasp, you have no choice but to lay there limp.

Gojo then moves towards where the curse was frozen in place. You're facing backwards so you don't see exactly what happens, but the moment after you hear loud sounds of ripping and tearing, the strange dimension you were placed in breaks.

Now you're able to move your body. You ball your hand up into a fist to test how much you're capable of. Despite being physically capable of movement, it is still difficult to do so because of your new injuries. Not to mention, Gojo's clamped his hand over your thigh quite roughly. It's easy to tell that he doesn't want you moving.

Gojo then walks over to Nanami calmly. "Ready to go?" he asks.

Nanami doesn't give a verbal response, and although you cannot see him, you assume that he nodded. Gojo then walks you out of the otherwise empty building and out into the front lawn.

"So what'd you think of her?" Gojo asks.

You let out a small frown in distaste that he's talking right over you, as though you're not even there.

"I think that with proper training, Y/N can be extremely powerful," Nanami answers after a moment of thought.

"Yep," Gojo chuckles with a grin you could almost see from where you were facing behind him, "because I'm the best teacher!"

You can't help but allow the groan building up inside of you to escape at his bold choice of words. However, Gojo continues to ignore you, only tapping slightly on your thigh.

"What do you plan on doing with her next?" Nanami asks.

"For now I plan to keep her away from the higher-ups... or they'll probably want to keep her to themselves," he replies just before hoisting you up a bit higher on his shoulder. "She's better off with me anyways," he adds as he places his grip back on your thigh, a bit higher than where it was before. Although you can't say for sure if it was on purpose or not.

You feel your face heat up at Gojo's words. As much as it pisses you off when he treats you like a piece of meat, you can't help being attracted to the way he sounds when he says things like that.

"Ahh! What the hell did you do to her?!"

The second you step onto concrete, Ijichi runs up to the three of you worried of the condition you're returning back in.

"Don't worry, she's fine," Gojo assures him with a pat on the shoulder.

You then hear the car door opening. Gojo sets you down gently in one of the back seats. For a moment, you could swear he looks at you with concern. You stare back into his bright blue eyes, hoping for any kind of empathy or reasoning behind it. However, it quickly disappears behind one of his childish grins, instantly ruining the moment.

You feel a frown extend across your lips as Gojo pulls away and shuts the door for you. You then follow his figure with his eyes as he walks back to Nanami. As your eyes shift to the blonde man, you see a seriously angered expression on his face.

"Don't you dare leave them alone together!" you hear him shout just as Gojo begins walking back to the car.

When the door opens, you immediately avert your eyes back to your lap. You hear Gojo hum a goodbye to Nanami before sitting in the passenger seat in front of you. Ijichi then takes the driver's seat.

"Can you drop us off at the school?" Gojo asks.

"Is-is that the right thing to do? Y/N's not in the best condition..."

"Y/N's a big girl," Gojo nods to Ijichi with a smile.

"I could have died," you grumble just as the car pulls away.

Finally acknowledging your presence, Gojo wiggles his finger at you. "But you didn't because I saved you. Remember, Y/N, you're my assistant and my student. I'm not going to just let you die recklessly."

"Okay," you say with a pout despite a tingling feeling growing on your cheeks.

I think that was the first time he called me by my name.
