You walk alongside Gendo until you arrive at a door to a motel. Room 305.

"You'll stay in here," he says quite simply as he swipes a card against a small machine.

You then step in with him into the small room. It's dark and the windows are closed, but there isn't much to look at anyway. Soon, Gendo flips on the light and locks the door behind him. Immediately, your eyes flash towards him at the sound of the lock.

"Calm down," he eyes you from the side. "I'm not going to hurt you." He then walks towards a chair against the nearby wall and sits down.

"And why should I believe what you say?!" you exclaim through narrow eyes.

"Don't be such a stubborn little brat," Gendo groans. "Just sit down."

Realizing it's no use- if you run away one of them will just drag you back- you look around and take a seat on the small bed in the middle of the room.

"What do you want from me?"

He shakes his head at the question he finds too ridiculous to answer directly. "I want to talk to my daughter, that's all."

"As far as I'm concerned, you are not my father!" you spit.

"Pigheaded daughter," he scoffs, "if you want to know the truth about your mother and your curse, you'll have to accept me."

Your eyes widen at the notion. Is he really going to tell you about your mother?

"That's a good girl," he hums when he sees your face has softened. "Now listen..."

FLASHBACK ~ APPROXIMATELY 23 YEARS AGO

GENDO'S P.O.V.

Finally, I've got my eyes on my target. She's stepping out of that rundown hotel across the street she had only entered a little less than an hour ago, but alone unlike when she went in. She lights a cigarette and smokes it, flipping through the wad of cash she's just earned. My eyes widen as I take in the sight. I can't believe that's her- that's the current owner of Sukuna's curse. I get up from my spot on a nearby bench and walk up to her.

"Excuse me, Miss," I say politely, "could you direct me to the nearest convenience store?"

"Eh?? Directions to the nearest convenience store?" she repeats, obviously not wanting to be bothered.

"Oh, I'm sorry," I bow as I back away from her. "I didn't mean to bother you."

As I begin to walk away, the woman steps right into my trap. She grabs onto my arm and looks at me with a softer face. "I was going that way, too," she smiles sweetly, "I'll walk you there, it's okay."

"Are you sure?"

The woman nods and puts away the stack of cash into her back pocket. We then set off walking together and I follow her. However, I know she isn't taking me to the nearest convenience store... The closest one was just around the corner from where we met.

"So, uh," I chuckle awkwardly as I'm forced to break the tension, "what're you doin' around these parts?"

She scoffs and continues to walk, not bothering to look me in the eye. "What are you, some kinda cop? I could ask you the same damn thing."

"My apologies again," I sigh. "I guess I just assumed you live around here with your family since you know the area."

"My family?" she gasps quietly before looking down at the concrete below. "No... I live by myself."

Of course she doesn't live with her parents. One of them died at her birth, I know that without even having to ask. Sukuna's lineage curse isn't exactly a secret in the world of curses and sorcerers. But god-only knows what happened to her other parent.

"Well as for me," I tell her, "I'm new to Gifu, here on... business."

The woman looks at me now, her eyes lighting up with a glimmer of excitement. "Businessman, huh?" she asks.

"No," I chuckle at her guess, "Actually, I'm a doctor even though I may not look like one at the moment."

She looks impressed by my answer but doesn't pry into it any further. Eventually, we arrive at the convenience store and I thank her for the trip.

"Here's my card," I say with a kind smile, "Call me if you're ever interested."

"Interested?!" she says with surprise, I suppose it's usually her giving out her own card to clients.

"If you'd like to go on a date sometime," I clarify.

"Oh a date?" she reiterates with shock clear in her voice. "Yeah, a date would be nice, sure."

The woman takes the card and slides it into her pocket with the wad of cash she'd just earned before meeting me. I then take her hand in mine and, with a devilishly charming grin on my face, kiss it.

"I'll see you soon then," I hum as I stand back up.

She nods and watches me carefully as I begin to walk away.

"Hey wait!" she then calls out, a hint of embarrassment in her tone. "What's your name?"

"L/N Gendo," I answer quite simply.

"Ah," she beams, with an innocent smile on her face, "and mine is Chiyo. It was nice meeting you!"

I nod and wave as I turn to walk away again. "I'll be seeing you, Chiyo."

The woman says nothing after that, she probably just stares as I continue to walk away without even a glance back. But ever since that day I can't help but wonder: Did she notice that I never intended to go into that convenience store she brought me to? And, if I was so lost, why would I walk away from the one person who had been so kind enough as to give me directions?

She really was always a goddamn disappointment and worse yet, a lost cause from the start. She wouldn't know a truth from a lie if it hit her right in the face.
