" Mikey" you whispered his name loud enough for him to hear
The boy flinched and hastily turned his back to you " W-what is it?" He mentally cursed himself for stuttering
You reached out your hand and put it on his shoulder " Look at me"
"..."
" Please.." you tried again but he wouldn't comply.
You knew that Mikey never showed his moment of weakness to anyone, not even Draken or Emma. He always held his head high no matter the circumstances. Even when it looked extremely bad, he still managed to stay composed.
But now, for the first time in his life, it seemed harder to nearly impossible. And with you being pretty persistent, he didn't know if he was able to keep it hidden any longer.
You kept trying to meet his eyes, forcing him to hold his head low and shift his body away from you. But with your firm grip on his shoulders, preventing him from getting away, it made it quite difficult.
The more he resisted, the more you where determined in not letting him handle these negative emotions all by himself. Forcing him was a cruel method on your part but if this was what it would take for him to finally open up, then you'll gladly do it.
Even if it meant him getting mad at you afterwards
" Listen, I know you don't want me to see you like this. But for gods sakes Mikey, just let me be there for you just this ones. " your voice started to crack " You always make sure I'm okey. You look after me even when I try to push you away because I don't want to look pathetic in front of you."
" You're allowed to express yourself. If you don't want that in front of the others fine. But you have to know that with me, you can." you delicately put your hand on his cheek " I'll never judge you for showing me your vulnerable side. "
" I'll love it just as much" you sincerely finished you sentence.
Mikey perked his head up, enough to see the girl grin at him with closed eyes.
At that moment, whether it was the speech you just gave or the way you looked at him with nothing but purity, something just snapped.
Mikey took one step forward making you stumble backwards so you meet the wall. He positioned one of his hands against the bricks, near your head, while his other arm remained at his side.
You gasped in shock, thinking you may have gone too far.
" Y/n.." you tensed hearing his low voice " I-i'm s-sorry..I won't push f-further if you don't w-" you stopped talking the minute you felt his head land in the crock of your neck
" Thank you" he smiled against your skin
Startled and not knowing how to react, without stuttering, you only nodded and remained immobile.
" Thank goodness " Mikey's voice came out as a muffle but you were able to hear it clearly " Ken-chin"
Tears pricked in the corner of your eyes at the way he talked, so broken and fragile. Biting the inside of your cheek you slowly wrapped your arms around his waist and pulled him against you.
