Chapter 30

When Izumi had decided to became a cop it was because she wanted to save Hyunjin and give Seonghwa the Justice he deserved. That was it.

But somewhere along the way she had grown up to the love her job so much and today was when her dream , that she had seen everyday for the past 6 years was coming true but this wasn't what she wanted.

Izumi scanned her uniform once more , the shining badge with her name was proudly adorned on her chest. This was her first public case and the fate had played such a cruel game throughout.

"Let's go." Changbin smiled at her and Izumi nodded taking a sharp breath in and made their way towards the court room.

She was stunned to see the number of reporters and cameras all around the place. Although she was nervous she remembered what Minho had told her this morning on the phone call.

"I would trust you with my life and this is just a case."

Izumi scanned the room quickly and locked eyes with Jeongin who had came to support her and Ara as well. She saw Park Kyunghee and Ha eun in the witness box, Seungmin in the the right corner of the room and Hyunjin on the left, across each other.

Chan, Han and Ryujin were sitting in the gallery pretty much next to Ara and Jeongin.

Yeonjun was out there , signalling changbin and Izumi to come so that Wooyoung could start with the case. The judge was already here and the atmosphere screamed agony.

"Hi bestie." Wooyoung whispered to changbin and shaked hands after he and Izumi paid their respect to the judge .

Izumi glanced at Seungmin who wouldn't make any eye contact with either her or Hyunjin. He just kept looking at the distance , looking so devoid of any human feelings that he almost looked crazy.

Izumi sighed as the judge gave the signal .

Wooyoung adjusted his blazer once and took his notes and reports from the desk and started explaining all the murders in details along with giving the prove that Seungmin confessed to them.

Minutes past by and minutes soon changed into an hour and the trial was going pretty well according to the the judicial terms. The hearing was apparently telecasted live, all over the country and with details of each murder, the nation was getting shivers.

It was during the explanation of Hwang yeji's murder when Ryujin's phone buzzed. Being in the court room she declined it at first but the next time she saw the same caller ID call her, she walked out of the room after excusing herself , to pick up the call.

It was Minho and he wouldn't call twice if it wasn't anything extremely important even after knowing that they were in the court.

15 minutes earlier

"Reina, you know right that you can go home now." Minho said after Reina refused to leave the car and whined to tag along Minho to buy some medicines for their grandma.

"But I want to stay!" She answered.

Their grandmother was discharged last night and was home. Their parents were already tired and Reina was exhausted as well so Minho didn't wanted to take her along with him to search for the right medicines.

"Get off or I will kick you out." Minho said with a straight face.

"Alright." Reina made a face before she got off and rushed inside the house .

Minho turned on the engine and raced through the traffic, almost breaking the speed limit and didn't stop until he was at the country side.. near the border of Seoul.
